Publisher's summary

In the heart of the Bible Belt, lines are getting blurred.

Liam Rush has never ventured too far outside the fences of his family farm, so college is a pretty big deal for him. Now he can finally claim his own identity - one that doesn't involve football, hunting, farm work, or four overbearing brothers. But when he finds himself falling for the androgynous dancer at Trybe, where he works as a bouncer, things get confusing. He's never been attracted to guys before. Not really. And what would the folks back home say if they knew?

Japanese American mix Blake Himura has been on his own since he was 17, with no one to depend on but himself. He's mere months away from realizing his dream of graduating college and becoming a dance instructor. Unstable men don't factor into his plans, least of all "straight" boys who don't mind ruining other people's lives to keep their dirty little secrets. Liam is exactly the kind of complication Blake doesn't need in his life. Unfortunately his heart hasn't gotten the memo.

18 years old.....

If the men were older this would be a good story. I understand its a SSU series, but still. Just my opinion. So many broken people in this world. I can relate to not fitting in anywhere, thinking I'm good enough, which would take a more confident person to show me I'm worthy. I love Maris Kage M/M series. This read was not fitting for me. WTSaid, it's just my opinion.

Surly somewhat predictable but....

Hey it's a gay romance so you know they are going to fall in love, they are both truly young so there are enough ups and downs to keep you reading on. Very cute, gee, I love fall in love, and I live this book!😙💞💖👬

Maris Black + Chris Patton = perfection

I have loved everything by Maris Black so far and this book was no exception. Having Chris Patton narrate it makes it even better! I'm looking forward to more from both of them. I'm hoping poor Seth gets his own book soon. Fingers crossed!

Favorite installment of my favorite gay series!

Would you listen to Undeclared again? Why?

I have already listened to it multiple times. The characters all stuck out for me, the narration is an easy listen, and I overall enjoyed the story enough to want to go back and listen.

What about Chris Patton’s performance did you like?

His voice is easy to listen to, and he puts just enough emotion into the characters and story without going overboard. He differentiates the voices, but not so much that they sound like cartoons.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Sammy in general moved me more than I think he was supposed to as a supporting character. Without giving any major spoilers for any book plots, I'd say that Paul's bachelor party, the aftermath, and Sammy all made me emotional.

Any additional comments?

Couldn't recommend this book more highly. There's definitely some drama, some potential overdrama, but I legitimately cared if these two people ended up together.
