Story
Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very lives we wish we were living. But it doesn't have to be this way.

The evening spent organizing your overflowing kitchen cupboards. Disruptions are the enemies of a life well lived—both the new distractions of our generation and timeless ones that have existed for centuries. They all add up to make you feel restless, tired, and unfulfilled. They’re keeping you from living with joy, from accomplishing the good that only you can do.

Outstanding and Eye Opening
This book gave real life experiences that you could relate to understand why you needed to unclutter life. She was funny but real on how God needs us to be uncluttered to give him our full attention. I had never looked at from that point of view.
I am going to try an implement the not buying anything new to wear for awhile. Start going through the closets and donate my overflow. I see how my relationship with God is suffering 💔 from over scheduling and to much of just every thing but time with Jesus. Thanks for a wonderful book.,

More than just physical clutter
I picked this book for inspiration while working through the everyday stuff (dishes, laundry, etc). You see, I've been an aspiring minimalist for quite a while, but can't just start chucking stuff out my window left and right. This book was a good look at the other clutter in our life and culture. I definitely enjoyed it.

Thank you Courtney for going through so many over looked aspects of life. To rest has been something i have neglected at times but it has been easier after un-cluttering. I appreciate the solid look at resting and keeping the sabbath focused instead of running around all the time. There is definitely great need out there but if we dont take care of ourselves and our relationship with God then it will start us falling apart.

Story
I’m too busy. We’ve all heard it, we’ve all said it. Sometimes being busy seems like the theme of our lives. Yet this frenetic pace poses a serious threat to our physical, social, and even spiritual well-being. In this mercifully short book about a really big problem, best-selling author Kevin DeYoung rejects the "busyness as usual" mindset, arguing that a life of constant chaos is far from what God intends. DeYoung helps us figure out a better way forward as he strikes a mature and well-reasoned balance between doing nothing and doing everything.

We are all spread too thin, taking on more than we can handle, trying to do so much - almost as if we are afraid that if we were to take a moment of rest, we might discover that all our busyness is covering up an essential lack in our lives. But God never meant for us to be so busy. God desires for us peace.

Story
Almost any parent you asked would tell you that they want their children to be happy, successful adults. But many of us forget (or never knew to begin with) that lasting personal joy is not necessarily found the way the world says it is - through reaching a certain socioeconomic status, having a certain job, buying a certain house, or having a certain amount in one's bank account. In fact, says Kristen Welch, author of Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled World, personal satisfaction comes not from grabbing onto things but from holding them with an open hand and, very often, giving them away.

Story
The way Jesus tells it, if we give up on belonging in order to follow him, we'll find ourselves belonging anyway. We might not belong the way other people do, with normal homes and normal families and normal ways of fitting in. But we'll belong in a way that's a hundred times better. We'll be fully in place because we know we are out of place. We'll belong like aliens.
