Editorial reviews

Ronny Bronston just wants what any other young man wants: a job off-world with the United Planets. Ronny's dream is what sets things in motion in this story from science fiction legend Dallas McCord Reynolds. Ultima Thule follows Ronny Bronston as he gets accepted into United Planets and assigned to the Bureau of Investigation. Jim Roberts, a notable Audible performer, brings this story to life with his sharp interpretations of Dallas Reynolds's characters. After securing employment, things seem to be going well for Ronny. That is, until he finds out his assignment is to capture the infamous Tommy Paine.

Pretty Good

Sometimes I wonder if extreme bad reviews that use words like "worst ever," terrible," "insufferable" etc have more to do with a listener lashing out after a bad day than the actual listening experience.

I thought this story was interesting and entertaining. Not a classic but good enough to make my daily commute go by faster.

The reader has an East Coast accent but \ I got used to that quickly and he did a nice job with various characters.

Insufferable

What disappointed you about Ultima Thule?

I could no longer torture myself and had to end the story half way through. At this point the character has yet to make it out of the office building. Not only do all the characters seem boring but the narrator, Jim Roberts, reads as if a bed time story to small children.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jim Roberts’s performances?

No.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No.
