Well, heck

Not my favorite Shen book. It started out fun- the dialogue was smart and sassy; I laughed a lot. But then it went to hell. The heroine, Blair, all of a sudden turns stupid, upset about Ty’s past misdeeds, and although she has told Ty she loves him, is ready to give up the relationship. Talk about conditional love. Stupid, naive girl. I almost couldn’t finish the book after that. But heck, I listened and got to the HEA, but it just wasn’t the same. The story lost the magic for me because it turned lame. Who acts like that? Nobody I want to know. Good performance, though.

Fun story

Fun read. I laughed at times and smiled at the direction of the story at times.

Tyed

I love all of LJ Shen's books but I hadn't read this one yet and I'm really happy I decided to listen to the audio of it! i loved the character voices performed and the overall story was really good. There were a few moments I wanted to knock sense into Ty and Blaire but at the end of the day they remained Tyed.

Loved this book

I loved the twists and turn of this book, funny and heartbreaking! Definitely must read!

Hmmmm my truth

I did not like either character. I did finish it to see if I was missing something but no, and I hope no one romanticizes these characters, no pun intended. The narrator was great!!

Not Bad

Blaire has a journalistic assignment and she needs a good grade. She was assigned MMA and the owner lined up fighters for her to interview. One of the fighters, Ty, is making it very difficult to complete the assignment.

This book was full of small surprises. I would think a character was going to do something, but, L.J. Shen would go in another direction. This is so refreshing. When you read a lot, you tend to figure out or predict what’s next. But Shen did a few things different that kept me engaged.

The book was also a bit funny. I chuckled once or twice and smiled a lot.

I wasn’t really feeling the side story with Blaire’s sister and her best friend, but that might be because I was really into things with her and Tye.

This is my second book by L.J. Shen. I liked this so much more than Defy - but is that really fair? That was a novella.

I couldn't stop listening. I feel the ending was anti climatic. I would of liked more but I loved this book

Good storyline

I enjoyed this book and the narrator was good. Had some surprises I didn’t see coming.

Chewing gum???

Why the heck is the narrator chewing gum throughout the story. it is the most annoying sound I have ever heard. yuck!!!

A fairly quick audio with great banter and chemistry between the characters! I liked that the story wasn't too predictable and Rebecca Snow did a great job bringing this story to life!
