Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury comes a heart-wrenching and redemptive new story in the Baxter Family series about a couple desperately waiting to bring their adopted child home and a young mother about to make the biggest decision of her life.

Cole Blake, son of Landon and Ashley Baxter Blake, is months away from going off to college and taking the first steps toward his dream - a career in medicine. But as he starts his final semester of high school, he meets Elise, a mysterious new girl who captures his attention - and heart - from day one.

Elise has her heart set on mending her wild ways and rediscovering the good girl she used to be. But not long after the semester starts, she discovers she’s pregnant. Eighteen and alone, she shares her secret with Cole. Undaunted by the news, and in love for the first time in his life, Cole is determined to support Elise - even if it means skipping college, marrying her, and raising another man’s baby.

When Elise decides to place her baby up for adoption, she is matched with Aaron and Lucy Williams, who moved to Bloomington, Indiana, to escape seven painful years of infertility.

But as Elise’s due date draws near, she becomes focused on one truth: She has two weeks to change her mind about the adoption. With Cole keeping vigil and Lucy and Aaron waiting to welcome their new baby, Elise makes an unexpected decision - one that changes everyone’s plans.

Tender and deeply moving, Two Weeks is a story about love, faith, and what it really means to be a family.

Great book!

Although this is the 5th in a series, I read it as a stand alone with no problem. I'm sure I would have experienced more depth with the characters had I read the others first, but they were well developed here and enjoyed the read. I love the way Karen Kingsbury weaves the lives of several people into a book so seamlessly. They face hardships, celebrations and life's events with honor and dignity, albeit moments of errors in judgment and mistakes, but with grace always.

I truly appreciate this clean read and the way characters throughout face short and long term situations of heartbreak, resolve and healing. Kirby Heyborne and January LaVoy did an excellent job narrating and it truly added to the book. Thank you.

I recommend this book to any one.

Awesome Storyline!

Karen Kingsbury is such a great writer. I was crying, feeling the pain and so caught up like it was my family’s lives. When Cole was leaving for college it was just like I was there and I had watched him grow up.
Karen, keep writing and keep bringing us stories of love, tragedy, triumph and laughter!!!

Too Syrupy. Not real life

Too much emphasis on emotion. And not much action....not realistic of people’s real emotions

Two Weeks

This book was very special. Yes I was very pleased to hear this amazing author speak for a long time thanking all her staff and affiliates of all her books and screen staff.

For those of you that read this, "The Baxter's" a film will be seen on TV as a series starting March 28 on Prime Video. It will be on the Computer screen and on TV. I will use Netflix to get it after joining the membership for it. It is such a wonderful series that Karen Kingsbury has written and had produced.

sweet,sad,hopeful engaging story

I've read a few of her books and I've always been a fan, there are parts of this that are a little too cliche And unrealistic. But overall the story is pretty good. We've all read a story of a girl who wants to give the baby up for adoption but then changes her mind and it's hard on the adoptive parents and it's hard on the new mom- but this is a little bit different take on that I do like the Christian point of view throughout the story it helps give weight to some of the decisions. The death of one of the characters was hard to read as I toggled between reading and listening. Which I wouldn't suggest doing if you're sitting in the parking lot of ALDIS like I was, crying. And the Lord help you if you have have teenagers or or kids near that age because you certainly you certainly will empathize with Ashley and Landon as they watch they're senior graduating graduating, recalling his young life through the years and how much they're gonna miss them. Have some tissues.Overall I would suggest this book though. Some good lessons in it and good overall storytelling. The narrators I've heard before in other books and they do a fairly good job of separating the characters in giving voice to them

A great story about faith and family

I loved this book. It brings together family love. It shows how faith in God is the only way when facing decisions we can’t make. It also showed me as a mother how we must say silent when we want to say what we feel at the time even if we know it can cause conflict. I is a great story.
