Jay O’Connor came to Cuba to escape.
After a brutal divorce, a public scandal, and the wreckage of his once-glamorous movie-star life, all he wants is silence, distance, and a few days to himself.
But paradise turns deadly the moment a stranger in a white coat asks for an autograph.
One needle.
One deadly virus.
One impossible demand.
Jay has Two Hours to Live unless he can come up with five million dollars and deliver it before time runs out.
Stranded on a remote island, hunted by men who want him dead, and haunted by his inner demon, Jay is forced into a brutal fight across the unforgiving terrain of Cuba.
Every minute costs him strength.
Every choice brings him closer to death.
And the cure may be more dangerous than the disease.
Two Hours to Live is a relentless action thriller about survival, betrayal, and one man’s desperate race against time.

Despite the audiobook's brief two-hour runtime, the author, Joseph Burton, a fast-paced thriller that makes excellent use of its two-hour runtime. The writing is clear and engaging, with a constant stream of action that keeps the story moving without sacrificing the characters. Despite the novella's brevity, Jay O'Connor develops into a believable protagonist whose emotional struggle feels authentic. The dialogue flows naturally, allowing listeners to experience the fear, guilt, and desperation that drive his decisions. The ending is particularly memorable, jumping ahead eleven years as O'Connor reunites with Lilly, the daughter of the man he had promised to save but ultimately could not. That poignant encounter adds emotional depth to the conclusion, reminding listeners that the consequences of our choices can echo for years and leaving a lasting impression long after the story end.
The narrator, Scott Fleming, delivers a strong performance that enhances both the suspense and emotional impact of the story. His speech is consistently clear, and he creates subtle yet distinct character voices, complete with believable accents that help differentiate each role without becoming distracting. O'Connor's fear and desperation are conveyed convincingly, allowing listeners to feel the mounting pressure as time slips away. The voice of O'Connor's ex-wife is equally well portrayed, capturing her personality and emotional presence with authenticity. His pacing and delivery are spot on, maintaining a tense atmosphere throughout while making the audiobook's two-hour runtime feel both engaging and immersive.
Two Hours to Live delivers nonstop action, genuine emotion, and compelling narration, proving that even a two-hour thriller can leave a lasting impression.
