Publisher's summary

The line between life and death is sometimes blurred....

Barrack and Brogan have memories of their death - and it isn't a pleasant one. When the goddess Aikaterina gives them a second chance at life - and at finding their true mate - they are willing to do whatever it takes to change their destiny. What they don't expect is that it would be so difficult!

It turns out their true mate is a human, a species they have limited knowledge about, from a planet they have never visited. With time running out, it doesn't take them long to realize this may be one battle that will take all of their skills to win.

Delilah Rosewater is haunted by dreams of her death. She doesn't understand why the dreams feel so real or why she knows with growing certainty that time is running out for her. Her feelings of frustration strengthen as she searches for the one person she feels could understand her increasing panic - Sara Wilson. She is shocked when instead of finding Sara, she comes face-to-face with two irritating men who claim to be from another world!

Caught in an unexpected snowstorm in the Appalachian Mountains, Delilah doesn't know what to think of the two men and their wild claims of a powerful goddess, alien worlds, and new destinies. Will Delilah open her heart to the twin dragons and accept the second chance the goddess has given them before time runs out for all of them?

I learned it from a book - Delilah

In my mind this book has been highly anticipated for a number of years. If you follow The Dragons of Valdier series, then you know who Barrack and Brogan are. We all know the story of what happened to the original Twin Dragons however we come to find out they were not dead as originally thought. They were given a second chance at finding their true mate but it comes with strings.

Fast forward a couple centuries later when the Twin Dragons know where their mate is. It seems to me that all of the mates are located on Earth which makes sense, because that is one of the new worlds that has not fully been discovered yet by all of the alien planets, however I would wish that other beings are being explored for mates. But I digress.

I loved Delilah because she is a survivor. She does not accept everything that she is told she contemplates and thinks about it and analyzes. She is also really funny and just a genuinely likeable character. Barrack and Brogan Are Yin Yang of one another which makes sense because they are twins but I like how both of the personalities match Hurst. There are some times where she is hot tempered and there are times where she just needs calm and relaxation. Her dragon on the other hand is a bit feisty and I'm all for a feisty dragon.

Of course in the background Delilah is going through a whole bunch of shenanigans occurring in her life. Humans can be worthless at times and in this book that is the case. There's a greedy human in the background trying to steal everything she owns right from under her and if that doesn't work murder is totally acceptable.

This story wasn't overly sexual and overly violent which is something you would know if you follow S.E. Smith. This is a great addition to the series and I am so happy that Delilah get to be with her best friend Sara from Jaguin's Love. I was wondering about Sarah and I'm glad that she got a full circle happy ending.

Twin Dragons Destiny

I must say that this author really caught my attention. I have been ill for a while but these ideas she puts out there enabled me to punch through the bad times and come out on the other side whole and recover my good life. I was able to fall into the stories and she made it seem real. I listened and fell into another time and it like it was a real place and I used it to take a little vacation while I got better. Thanks.

Second chance

This narrator is very good! I have listened to him many times with this author's books and he seems to get better every time I hear him.
Aikaterina gives Barrack and Brogan a second chance at life. They had to be killed when their dragon, symbiot and human could not agree on a mate and they went crazy killing people in their village. But Aikatarina brings them back and sends them away because she realizes that it is her fault that things went wrong. Their mate hasn't been born yet so they hasve to wait many years. Then the Godess tells them to find a warrior named Joaquin and his mate Sara because they will lead the twins to there mate. The only problem is that they only have so many days to find her and convince her to love them before their time is up and the past will revert back to when they died.
Delilah keeps having good dreams about twins and bad dreams about her death as a child. She also has a real estate mogul trying to get her land no matter what it takes but she isn't selling. When the two men from her dreams actually appear right as a huge snowstorm begins things become very interesting.

Cute

I thought this was a sweet read. My only suggestion would be to have a female narrator as well.

The original Dragon Twins get their second chance

For more of the original Dragon Twins’ current story, I recommend you read Pearl’s Dragon before this, if you can do it. This story really starts there with Pearl’s rules and her taser. Barack and Brogan are first referenced in Twin Dragons, book 7, if you want to know more about their first death.
This is a pretty good story that SES has written for the trio, and offers a new, creative and reasonably plausible explanation as to how it could happen.
Brenin does a decent job of narration. He really is the voice for Smith’s books.

great story. great narrator.

I really like S. E. Smith's books. they're very colorful and she has a great sense of humor. I like the characters that she develops. listening to David Brenin is enjoyable and it's easy to keep up with the story knowing that each character has a different voice.

I liked this story

This story was fun. I would like to read about the twin dragons more. The narration was good too but the only thing that kept twisting me up through the whole story was the twin dragon names. I 😊

Love it

This story was great I listened to the audiobook and am amazed at how I almost cried in the prologue. The twin dragons story was one that I had waited a long time for and I feel I was not let down.
