I identified with almost every word...

this book is amazing!!! so many times throughout the book i felt like i was listening to myself telling my own story... i can't wait to read his next one!

Great to listen to

This has been a really great book to listen to while working during quarantine. It’s not an action movie per se, with loads of drama. It just feels more real, and the narrator voice is great and relaxing to. This was also good to listen to during workouts to keep my heart rate stabile.

Well written

At times I wanted to hate the author. but the book is so well written feel like I was in his mind and experiencing some things with him.

Relatable

I love how real Nic makes this for us to understand. I felt like I was actually there with him. being an addict myself it was tough to hear.

Soul Touching Book

Wow! Such a beautifully written book. It’s such a touching story and definitely a tear jerker. 1000% recommend this book to any and everyone!

A powerful experience in honesty

I've listened to both Nic's story and his father's. They pair together well, because the disparities are so glaring, even though the same events are often discussed. Nic showed enormous courage in facing his problems, and in sharing them with readers. I wish Nic all the best.

Mechanically, this story could use some work as some sections seem to have been read twice, but it was fairly easy to skip over these,

Encouraging

I'm a step mom and daughter of an addict. It was helpful to hear it from Nic's perspective. It's made me more compassionate of the drug user.
