The worst piece of literature. However..

This is probably the worst piece of literature ever written. However, the story of the author, how she lifted herself and others up, how she changed so many lives, makes this book a landmark of modern culture. Teri Woods doesn't know how to write, but she most certainly deserves a standing ovation for her achievements.
PS. The narration sucks big time.

Terrible voice over By the female

The female voice over was horrible! When there should’ve been suspense or anguish or happiness or any emotion her voice failed to convey feeling. I wish I didn’t waste a credit on this book SMH

Good story but.....

I love Cary but Erica..... DRY! I read the reviews before I listened and was like I’m gonna try anyway because Cary is the man! But my girl has a nice voice but no and I mean no emotion to narrate! Story was good but no happily ever after... unless money is your happily ever after! But I’m a sucker for punishment I guess so on to book two lol!

Female Narrator Bad Bad

Cary Hite should have narrated alone...Erica Peeples is a horrible narrator...voice is very flat, no emotion, absolutely nothing. I’m in middle of listening and it’s so hard to listen to her. It’s like she’s laying in bed feeling sick and trying to talk. Bad! Bad!

The Struggle is Real!!!

When I first read this book, I loved it. I even enjoyed the bad acting movie. The narrators were absolutely horrible. Erica Peeples was bad in the movie and she is bad now. They made me cringe. I struggled getting through this book. I only finished it because I'm a fan of Teri Woods. Cary Hite was the absolute worse.

Boring.

The movie is better. Cary Hite always makes for an interesting listen, but the story, as a whole, drags and is very anti-climatic.

Wow never ever hire Erica Peeples for audio

First off I read this book years ago I love it and I even enjoyed the low budget money...But I didn’t like Erica in the movie and I damn sure do not like her in the audio version either!!! It was horrible no emotions, not urgency just flat out wrong!!! Girl if you didn’t want to do u just should have said u ain’t got time...I had to stop listening after chapter 8!! Sad sad sad waste of my time.

True to the Game

This is the first time I have tried to read this author. It will be the last. The language and the constant use of the term Nigger was more than I could take. I realize that in the black culture they use these words. This book or the 4 chapters I listened to made me angry.
