True West is the Best
This is one of the best plays by the amazing Sam Shepard. The genius part of this audio performance is the direction pushes forward the comedy in the script, which is key to the cathartic experience of the tragedy of these two brothers relationship. I’ve seen the play done before, all done to be very serious and dark, focusing more on the tragedy for the audience to experience. By bringing forward Sam Shepard’s sense of humor, the characters come off as more truthful and four dimensional.
Well done. Bravo 👏🏽

Riveting drama of sibling rivalry
This audiobook recording with Alfred Molina is good. IMO, the definitive performance of “True West,” was the 1984 television film adaptation with John Malkovich and Gary Sinise. Considered his best play, TRUE WEST is Sam Shepard’s 1980 drama of sibling rivalry.
