This story is intense and so raw! It will rip your heart out and stomp all over it. How Sharon Hamilton can weave so many emotions into one story never ceases to amaze me, but this one stands out as one of the best. If you have any love for our wounded warriors, then you’ll want to listen to this audiobook.

JD Hart narrates and as always he does a wonderful job on this fully voiced production. He brought something special to this story. The way he conveyed Zak’s feelings of anger, sadness, rage and ultimately love in this audiobook was unparalleled and I’ll remember this heart-wrenching story for a long time.

Would you listen to True Blue SEALs: Zak again? Why?

YES YES YES I will be listening to this book over and over again.. This is an amazing story about a young man who made the decision to join the Navy in honor of a friend whom joined and didn't make it back home.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Zak is my favorite. I like how he shows his vulnerable side even though he is a big tough SEAL.

Which character – as performed by J.D. Hart – was your favorite?

Zak because J.D. Hart brought him to life for me so well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Zak and Amy seen each other again and realized how much they still love each other.

Another 5 stars addition to the SEAL romance only Ms. Hamilton can write with her unique style. I loved reading both stories but listening to Mr. Hart telling them is another experience in itself. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, this stoy is an emotional roller coaster but with a good satisfying ending.

This book keeps you glued to hour seat.

Loved every bit of the two books about Zak and Amy. They have a tove that sticks through anything. I Wil be listening to this again.

I liked this audio book. It has the two stories of Zak and Amy. You get to see how their relationship was in high school and how it developed as they grew older and more responsible. Zak joined the SEALs and became more responsible for his actions. He and Amy got married before his first deployment. The mission had accidents happen. Zak ended up with injuries. The last part of the story is how Zak and Amy have to work through the problems that come with that. It brings to our attention how military families have a lot to go through. I received a copy of this book and am reviewing it with my own opinion. This is worth a credit!

Another touching story about Navy Seals

What about J.D. Hart’s performance did you like?

I have already heard a few audiobooks narrated by J.D. Hart consider him one of the best narrators. It's easy to tell what character is speaking and their feelings ,by his intonation. Great choice for these books

This is another of Ms Hamilton’s Navy Seal books. I have to say that the beginning was slow and I almost stopped reading it. But , knowing it was a book by one of my favorite authors,I didn’t give up. I am glad I did because after the first 1/4 of the book, it finally caught my interest.
This story centers around Zak, a new member of the Seals , and Amy his girlfriend who later becomes his wife.
But the real story is that Ms Hamilton brings to the forefront the sacrifices the soldiers and their families make to keep us safe in this country. Some come back with physical and emotional injuries. Some so devastating that the world they knew no longer exists .
We , as a Nation and as individuals, need to do more for them. For that awareness, I thank you , Ms Hamilton.

What other book might you compare True Blue SEALs: Zak to and why?

This book was very different from most that I've read in this genre. This story was not at all what I expected, but in the best way possible. I expected the normal guy and girl re-unite, something major comes between them, they work it out and live happily every after. In this book, the characters are so much more complex and as a reader/listener, you can't help but to feel something for each character and their story.

Have you listened to any of J.D. Hart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love J.D. Hart, and have listened to several of his audio books. You can tell he has a passion for his career, and brings each character to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book tugged at my heart strings. At times I found myself thinking, "this can't be it, please tell me there is more."

True Blue SEALs: Zak

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have recommended this audiobook to friends already. Not only is the story great, the narration is wonderful and easy to listen to. Any adult that enjoys action, suspense and romance will enjoy this book.

What other book might you compare True Blue SEALs: Zak to and why?

I would compare this book to other books by Sharon Hamilton. I've read all of her SEALs books and each one is written so will it has you turning the pages and holds your interest until the very end. I like how other members of the Team are brought into each story so we can catch up on what is happening in their lives too.

What about J.D. Hart’s performance did you like?

I both, read and listed to the Audible of this book and I have to say, if there was an award for best narrator, JD HART would win, hands down! His voice and accents are awesome and he speaks with so much emotion. I don't know how he keeps each character straight, but when he narrates, I know exactly which character is speaking....he is that good!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes....I have found myself ignoring TV and carrying my Kindle and speakers from room to room with me because I don't want to miss anything.

It's nice to have the prequel and Zak's story all in one book so the story can continue without any waiting time in between. Amy and Zak's love continues and we wonder if their love will be strong enough to survive Zak's injuries. He struggles to move forward and accept his injuries but it isn't easy as we learn more about him. Amy is a strong, patient woman.

The story is well written and filled with tension, heart warming moments, emotional moments and some humor. Just a little teaser I will give is how much I loved Zak's costume. :)

3.5 Stars. Felt Like I Was Missing Something.

This book and audiobook contained the novella True Blue Navy and True Blue SEAL's: Zak.

I have to admit after listening to/reading the novella (True Blue Navy) that my feelings about Zak were questionable, but I just disliked Amy altogether. I felt like she was selfish and kind of useless.

Then, I had questions about the relationship between Zak's mother and the attorney they visited. I felt like something was there that was either forgotten about or never meant to be developed. But, it felt like I was missing something.

Amy redeemed herself somewhat after the incident that occurred in her building. I still felt like Zak was limiting himself by being with her.

Next, Zak and Amy's story continues. They made some pretty rapid moves that I could understand on one hand, yet at the same time I wondered if they shouldn't have held off. It seemed more like they were in a fog of physicality as opposed to a relationship.

I also feel like I missed something during the deployment. It left me with a lot of unanswered questions. With all of the red flags flying, there didn't seem to be enough details about what went on there. A lot of suspicion with some situations lacking detail.

The situation with Zak's return is where I really felt like Zak and Amy started to build their relationship. I did like that we got to revisit some of the members of SEAL Team 3 and their families.

The narration was good. The actual story had danger, action, and suspense. There were quite a few steamy scenes, but I wasn't picking up on the romance. The book ended, and I still have no idea about Zak's future, what was behind the San Fran incident, or what was up with the deployment. I didnt think the last chapter added much to the book. I would have rather had an epilogue that was somewhere down the road in Zak and Amy's lives. Overall, I would give this 3.5 stars.

Realistic story that has me coming back for more!

I loved the journey of Zak and Amy. This book included the prequel of them getting together, and then the main story when Zak gets injured and Amy has to deal with challenges on her own as well. I love that this story isn't sugar-coated and at times hard to not want to punch Zak in the throat, lol. Great story, narration, and writing!
