Publisher's summary

In the serene and beautiful city of the elfs, life has changed but little since Menarm was destroyed and the war ended. Three springs have passed and Adren, the last princess of Menarm, has settled into her new life. Her champion, the Silent Warrior, has not been seen since the battle at Wilapond. Suddenly the peaceful life in her new kingdom is challenged by enemies the elfs are unable to fight. Disaster seems imminent for their whole race. Will Adren have to witness the destruction of this kingdom and once again find herself alone in the world? Or can the Silent Warrior come to her rescue and save them all?

Once again Anna's inspiration from the myths and legends of Europe and from writers such as J.K. Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien has woven a new and completely original tale full of suspense, adventure, and medieval-style warfare in Trouble in the Elf City, Book Two of The Silent Warrior Trilogy.

This tale of high adventure between elfs and men will take you to a fantasy world that will leave you asking for more. Join in the continuing saga of Adren and the elfkind, in book two of The Silent Warrior Trilogy.

A fun step outside of my “normal”

This was a fun listen. I wish I had realized it was the second book in a series when I started, I’m sure there are some things in the first book that would help me make better sense out of this one, but I feel I was able to get enough to not miss too much. I don’t often read books about elves, which is a habit I think I need to change as I truly enjoyed this one. This book had a little bit of everything in it: adventure, excitement, warfare, family, friends, and even a wee bit of romance. This book is filled with strong women who are not afraid to protect those they love, even through unconventional means. I love how willing the men are to support these strong women, even when they do it begrudgingly.
The narrator was good. I found his voice inflections added to the story.

Worth the listen

This was an excellent read and had a lot of fun elements including magic, elves, warriors, and suspense. Adren, the last princess of Menarm Is back for another adventure and definitely keeps the listener or reader entertained and guessing what will happen next. The writing is well done and very creative. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Book 2 is great!

Book 2 of Anna del C. Dye's Trilogy was a great continuation of the series. You will want to read the books in order to best understand where this books starts and how things "came to be". The women in the book have strong characters, and want to become warriors.

I love how although of a fantasy nature the story is very real and you get to know and understand these characters as though they were all human. And because this book was Audible, it was also "portable" in that I could even listen while driving or doing other things. I love that. The narrator was engaging and had a very pleasant voice to listen to.

The story is entertaining and engaging. There is a little for lovers of great fiction, mystery, and adventure. It's all included. I feel as the book would appeal to adults and young adults as well. Good read! Looking forward to what's next!

I received an Audible version of this book from the author for my honest review which I have given. All thoughts are my own.

Strong Women Characters

Any additional comments?

This story has strong women characters who want to be warriors incognito with the help of Adren. These women wanted to be trained to defend themselves in case their lives were in danger. At a time of crisis, I loved the fact that these women took it upon themselves to be prepared and were able to help defend their city beside men who knew nothing of their gender. In the last chapter, the men finally find out who they are. What a wonderful story!

The narrator was fantastic. He used marvelous voices for all the characters and kept the story interesting. I had a few favorite voices, which he used, that I really liked.
