Good novella!

This was a short, fast pace and funny story. Jack Daniels stroke again with this new investigation. This was the third novella in the Jack Daniels P.I. Series. I like the author's black humour. The narration was great.

Trouble in mind

A great mystery. A short and well written story. These are a great series to listen to. Each book carries on where the other left off.

Another good Novella by John Holt

This is my third book by John Holt. This is another great short story, almost 2 hours. The ending was a surprise. It is not necessary to listen to the first two books before listening to this one. All three stand alone.

This was my favorite narrator of the three. Peter Borys does a great job.

Trouble in mind

Intriguing! I didn't see it coming. I'm starting to warm up to old Jack! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

Twists and Turns!

This book had lots of twists and turns and definitely keeps the listener intrigued. I enjoyed every bit including the sarcasm had me smirking

old fashion detective story

Again John Holt writes another good old fashion detective story. Trouble in mine brings to live detective Jack Daniels. I really like his character. A short story with good characters and a good story line.

There is no corse Language in it, or sex scenes. Although there is some violence it does not go into great details.

Narrator Peter Borys does a good job tell the story. The story is told in the first person. Borys gives each character alive with their own individual voices.

Good Short Story

This is a nice, short private investigator story, a nice narration. The story was a good one, but a tad predictable.

Great Gum Shoe!

I wasn't sure how I would like the slower paced gum shoe Private Eye but I have discovered that I love him. I tend to read higher octane fast paced books but Jack Daniels has found a place in my heart as a great storylines with a slower enjoyable pace that sets it apart. Kind of like a smooth Bourbon!

This is the first time I have heard a story narrated by Peter Borys and he has done an awesome job with Jack! I think John Holt had a trial and error while he found the right fit for Jack and Peter has stepped up to the plate and hit a homer.

I have loved it!! A great smooth story to change up your pace with plenty of intrigue to keep you hooked.

Great little novella

Trouble in Mind. is a great light read , fast paced and very easy to listen to. Not heavy or dark just good entertainment.

Not Just Whodunit but Who Is It?

So his client offers him a substantial payoff to dig a little dirt on her husband. He provides but she stiffs him. (He's never heard of a retainer?) Shrugging his shoulders he opens the paper to find her picture--attached to another name. Plus she's a corpse. Our P.I. is firmly molded in the noir conceit and plays his hard-boiled game to the . . . interesting . . . conclusion. I listened to narrator Peter Borys who gave a nice edge to the vocalizations.

Book 3

This is the third of the Jack Daniels Novellas this is as good if not better than the first two. This continues with a link to the first two books, bringing more puzzles to be solved. I really enjoyed this series.

Where is my complete ending ?

As usual John Holt writing is beautiful but this book disappointed me a little because its ending was not completed like it does on the other books of his beautiful books.
Performance by Peter Borys is as good as usually.

Easy Listening

Another good read, The Jack Daniels books are short and sweet, plenty of action and no time wasting. The characters are well enough developed and believable. Peter Borys is a good reader and it's easy to follow who is speaking by the different voices he uses. Recommended! ***

Really enjoyed it

I am really loving this series - so different to what I normally listen to, but so glad I have found this.

The narrator is like a warm hug and just so easy to listen to.

The story is really getting me involved and I want to know more , the humour is great - so ironic . In this episode Gerry has become more developed and am looking to hear more about him.

Murder

I loved the narrator Peter Borys.

You will find murder,cheating, fake identity. Loved the characters. Brilliant.

Ace

Jack solves another mystery, really liked this book just as much as the first two. Starts off in this with a rough start but he is able to proves his worth in the end. I hope there will be more stories with Jack in the future.

A good read

Enjoyed book wish they were longer just get into it and it ends too quickly

An entertaining read

Book 3 in the series and another well written story. Although only a novella it had enough depth to keep it interesting and the characters were believable. It certainly kept me entertained while stuck in a huge traffic jam in the middle of Birmingham, UK. Probably saved my sanity too.
