How steamy is it? Hot Damn

Publisher's Summary

From New York Times Best seller Alessandra Torre...

Everyone in Nashville knows Nathan Dumont.

Four years ago, his fiancée disappeared.

Last night, he proposed to me.

I'd wanted to escape my life, the seedy strip club, and the mountain of bills. I had seized the opportunity to live in a mansion, fill my days with country clubs and caviar, my nights with romance and sex.

Maybe I should have done my homework first.

Great narration failed to connect with characters

I will start by saying that the narration by Aria & Will is perfection. it felt they really carried the emotional content of the story and it felt very engaging. That being said my particular disconnect with the story is more character based. I have read other books with this type of trope (marriage of convenience) but this particular one just felt like the characters had very little redeeming qualities so it made my connection to them a bit difficult. This is my second audio from this author and i think this might be a thing with her writing. The storyline is good but I just seem to be at a disconnect with the characters.

Just listen to the sex scenes

This story was lacking. Its unfolding was disingenuous to the characters’ personalities. The heroine was immature, and the hero, without affect. The premise of the story of the heroine being a striper offering limited benefits and the hero being a love-torn billionaire was ridiculous. The turnabout in the end was inconsistent with the characters. The book’s only redeeming qualities were the narrators’ performances and the off-the-charts sex scenes.

Could have been better...

...but it was okay. Predictable. But light read if you are looking for that. If you want deep, moving. Find another book.

Horrible story!!!

I love Will M. Watt that’s why I chose to listen to this audible. But even Will couldn’t save the story. Candace was just dumb. There was no reason for her to fall in love with Nathan. He was horrible to her. I read some reviews that imply she doesn’t apologize for her womanhood, so “you go girl”. That is a lie, she is pathetic. This woman is not strong, she is a pathetic whore. She is not an example of a strong woman she is the example of an ex stripper that is just dumb, weak and thinks giving blowjobs is the answer for her bad decisions in life. The story just doesn’t make sense how can someone be so pathetic.

Alessandra is a master at combining mystery with a love story.

I couldn't figure this one out until the secret was revealed and it did not disappoint. I love the mystery and I like how it didn't get dragged out too long. The story progressed at a nice pace. If you like mystery and a love story with a side of steamy hot, mixed in one story- you won't be disappointed with this one.

From Marriage of Convenience to Love

Trophy Wife Reminded me of Beauty and the Beast with a lot of steamy scenes. I disliked selfish, beastly Nathan to the last chapter. More or less predictable happy ending. I enjoyed other Alessandra Torre's novels more, especially Hidden Seams and Tripping on a Halo.

Different..

I’m a huge fan of Alessandra Torre’s writing style. It doesn’t always follow the usual romance script. This story in particular is one of my faves and it’s a good read every time.

Good story but....

There was a dropped plotline that dropped my rating. I cant believe that the author & editors missed it. it changed the story. otherwise it was interesting, if not very original. Narration was good, not exceptional. Worth a "free" read with the romance package, but I would have been unhappy if I spent a precious credit on it.

definitely hard to put down

This book is a true reflection on the author's ability to put together a very well-written and thoroughly thought out story. There was romance, suspense, a little espionage, heartache and even some dry humor in all the right places.

Will Watt is a very versatile narrator and a can't sing his praises enough. Aria Collins did an amazing job bringing the heroine to life.

Great book, not the best audio

Excellent story and the narrators themselves were great but the audio quality is terrible, there is a lot of background noise and can even hear talking in the background multiple times throughout the audio. Disappointing.
