Repetitive

I'm still not clear what the actual commandments are? There is very little on actual trend trading strategies. Ok maybe discussing actual strategies isn't the point, but there is only so much 60 plus chapters can say without much detail.

Almost ever chapter was the same, a defense of momentum trading and a criticism of those who dismiss it. Save yourself the time and money and find the cliff notes and you'll get as much as reading the book.

As many have said, Covel is here to tell you how stupid you are if you don't follow this strategy, and that no other strategy is of any value. Yet as usual no hard, concrete, strategic, rule based advice; you must go to his website to subscribe for that golden info.

No doubt this strategy is one that every investor should subscribe to in at least a portion of his/her portfolio, but if you are looking for specific rules, don't bother with the book. Unless you like listening to someone who just discovered the holy grail and wants to tell you how stupid you are for not knowing what he knows, and that you have been living your life as a fool but should go toward the light...

Jesse Livermore said he made MOST of his money sitting. That's where the BIG MONEY is!! Letting the trade work. Trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme It's a business!! Approach it like the state lottery and you will always be on the losing end. ALWAYS!! Add this book to your library of books on trading the market. If your looking for the Holy Grail that will bring you riches in the market, stop the search. It don't exist!! If you're willing to put in the work and LEARN this business, then this book is the best place to start to understand the psychology of the market.

great read for all traders at any level

A great read into the perspective of trend following and the accomplished traders who have succeeded.

Mandatory read for new traders

Excellent. Not filled with charts and data and other boring material. He pounds home the point that this is a methodology to be developed into your personal style. This is the foundation to build your empire on. Bonus podcasts at end of audible book version. Loved it
Mike is an evangelist for the idea of trend following. I look forward to listening to his podcasts and reading his other works on the subject.

Fluff

Fluff fluff fluff. No substances just stories ABOUT trend trading. Not actually helpful techniques. But maybe that is what sells..

I had purchased a different Covel book on trends and this book is basically the Exact same thing. I think he just likes talking.

Find Market Direction Quickly

More often than not, market direction is simply overlooked or underestimated.

This book really help clear all the white noise from the markets. It turns strategies into bulldozers.

informative but to make you think about how to get there yourself and not follow a guide. Basically trial and error.

One if the best trading books I've ever read.

This is amazing. I wish someone would have mentioned this book when I first started reading. Im not sure why when you first start, coaches and programs shove psychology of trading down your throat. They then chase it down with a few mainstreaming books like trading in the zone. Don't get me wrong, both of those are great but this thing should be your trading bible.

Great Addition To The Collection.

Really enjoyed this concise thought provoking audio book. Michael Covel's ability to Instil the listener with a 'Can Do' attitude while covering technical topics is magic. The story of the music teacher at San Diego State had me belly laughing. Brilliant!
The bonus material with Tom Basso & Salem Abraham was fantastic, two very clued up gentleman.
