Treacherous Temptations
By Victoria Vane
Happy living in the beautiful English countryside, Mary Elizabeth Edwardes is coming to terms with the death of her father. When her devious and unscrupulous uncle disrupts her peaceful existence. With an heiress as his ward, her uncle develops a scheme which will forever change Mary's life.
A dissolute nobleman wrongly stripped of his title, lands and estates is bent on revenge. He soon realizes the man who striped him of everything is the uncle of the most refreshing, honest and enchanting woman he's ever met. Lord Hadley Blanchard is most confused by what he feels for Mary, as he's still intertwined in a twisted, dubious triangle.
A triangle of dark, sexual deceit motivated by greed.
Mary is a refreshing surprise, pure, sweet and kind. She is a beautiful light in a this plot filled with the most creatively devious people in England. Treacherous Temptations is the perfect name for this story. Author Victoria Vane intricately weaves darkness and light in this story exceptionally well. A refreshing, potent story of one woman bringing beautiful, blinding light into one man's dark bleak world, through the gift of pure love. I truly loved this story.
A must read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A bit sophomoric.
Historical romances are not expected to be great literature but I do expect a well thought out story. This one was not bad - just very improbable. I found that unsatisfactory.

Wonderful melodrama and great romance
If you like your romances with a good side of steam this is for you. Lots of entanglements, great characters, vivid storytelling and drama. Excellent audio and exciting to listen to. Lots of variety in the narration - brought the characters really to life.
