Publisher's summary

A mysterious package, a rumor of a masterpiece, and a dangerous game of hide and seek....

Zoe loves working as a consultant for a company that specializes in art theft recovery. Her only complaint is that the jobs are few and far between, so when she meets an eccentric collector who is on the hunt for a painting of a blue butterfly that might - or might not - exist, she jumps at the chance to look for it. She comes across shady dealers and a confusion of clues as her search for the elusive painting takes her from tropical destinations to the cobblestone streets of Madrid.

Treacherous is the sixth installment of the lighthearted On the Run series from USA Today best-selling author Sara Rosett, which features globetrotting art heists and international intrigue.

Great series, poor editing on this one

This is a good book but the editor screwed up and chapters 34-36 are mixed up. You need to skip ahead then back then ahead two. How on earth is this not caught and fixed? Hopefully someone will relay this and it will get fixed for future Audible listeners.

Chapters out of order

The storyline was great. It is a light hearted mystery that has some unexpected twists. My complaint is that chapters 34 and 35 were out of order. I heard the resolution of a scene before what happened in the scene.

Hmm

The story started getting a bit kitschy and predictable. The narrators inflection when speaking doesn’t match the words she’s saying. The audiobook chapters at the end were transposed so you actually hear the climax before the chapter leading up to it. I did not enjoy this book as much as the others, but it filled time.

Another great mystery

Loved this mystery. But could you fix chapter 35 and 36? They are in reverse order. Thanks

Really Love This Series

This is such a good mystery series. It has well developed characters ,and good plots.
Sara Rosett does not have to resort to sex ,violence or bad language to move her story
forward or keep you interested. The narrator is excellent.
I have listened all 6 books in this series and look forward to the next one!
Her other 2 series are also very good ,especially the English Manor series.

treacherous characters

From the opening lines, a sense of danger and intrigue captivated me. The unidentified hackers andtheir secret communique lay the foundation for dangerous characters with treacherous agendas. Zoe is chagrined that her employer's clients don't want to work with her. She wisely accepts other jobs which prove to be invaluable in advancing her suitability to become an art recovery expert in her own right. Jack joining her in Madrid to resolve another international art crime was expected but welcome. Zoe is assuredly carving her reputation as a capable investigator and recovery expert.

#6 is Jack and Zoe's best adventure yet

Thank you, Sara Rosett, for the education I am getting from your novels. After listening to your ending credits, I found online photos of Heade's " Blue Morpho Butterfly." That led to its current owner,
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR. It's website views of the museum building took my breath away. Plus, last week The Guardian published a lengthy story on Pegasus no-click spyware. In short, your novels are current versus my usual cozy mysteries set in the Cotswolds in 1920.

two chapters out of order

super bummed out about this production. the last two chapters are out of order. I even went back to chapter 34 to make sure I did not skip ahead. It sucked to hear the ending and then hear how the got there.
