Wonderful Cultural Travelogue

My family and I played this book as we crossed the country in our minivan and it made a wonderful companion. We thoroughly enjoyed Kuralt's vivid descriptions of places and poignant observations of people. We've listened to segments again and they are still wonderful and witty multiple times over.

You can not go wrong with this one

From the moment we started out in 'Orleans' and everywhere Charles went, he took me right along. My only regret is the trip passed way too fast. Actually had more fun then a few trips I've experienced first hand.

Charles has the hope of America

I was really thrilled by this title. Charles takes you on a tour of America and you can only enjoy the ride. This was the most involving book on tape that I have ever listened to. I have passed it on to friends and family and they loved it. Too bad Charles had to have a mistress in Montana, that was the only bad this he ever did and my wife and I laugh about the part of the book where he goes to Montana thinking he really is just shacking up with his girlfriend.

Charles Kuralt’s Final Year Traveling America!

I grew up hear “that voice” sharing his travel, humor, colloquial insights and love for this great country and its people. I promised myself to take this one-year long trip and follow CK’a foot-steps before the America we long for and love fades away…

Oh, YES. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Reading it for the 3rd time since it was published and took notes to make my own Road Trip game plan. Maybe there's some of this Magic still left in America. Thanks, Mr. Kuralt. SO love your work.

Water for a parched soul...

I loved Charles Kuralt on "Sunday Morning" years ago, and listened to his books on tape over and over on car trips for years until the tapes no longer worked. Now I have them on Audible, and in these troubled times, listening to his wonderful stories is like a cool drink to a parched soul. I highly recommend this title, as it brings back what is good and familiar.

The actual book is my all time favorite. His voice is so soothing and he can get you to feel you're actually there.
