Ehd's a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He's strong and intelligent but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful, young woman in his pit trap, it's obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. He doesn't know where she came from; she's wearing some pretty odd clothing, and she makes a lot of noises with her mouth that give him a headache. Still, he's determined to fulfill his purpose in life - provide for her, protect her, and put a baby in her.

Elizabeth doesn't know where she is or exactly how she got there. She's confused and distressed by her predicament, and there's a caveman hauling her back to his cave home. She's not at all interested in Ehd's primitive advances, and she just can't seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive but beautiful man is a constant - and often hilarious - struggle.

With only each other for company, they must rely on one another to fight the dangers of the wild and prepare for the winter months. As they struggle to coexist, theirs becomes a love story that transcends language and time.

Best Love Story!

I never take the time to write reviews but this time I had to. This story was exceptional. The reading was good too. The story is just so different and beautiful. About love and sacrifice. To the few people complaining that the "caveman" should not know the words that he is using - I do not understand this complaint. These are his THOUGHTS. Of course he does not know the word "pink", but he does know what pink is. Of course he describes sex as "making a baby" - this is a time where things are so harsh every action you do has a purpose. Of course he uses "big words", again they are his THOUGHTS. You would have the "big words" when your picturing something in your mind. This author just really knocked this one out of the park. Beautiful story with a new twist (and God knows it is rare you find anything original out there). I just wish she had more available on Audible. I would definitely want to read/listen to it!!!

This listen is just as good as the read!

I love this story! I have read this book at least three or four times. And I am sure I will listen to this audio book at least that many times also. This is a wonderful love story. The narration is wonderful.

Such a beautiful story! It’s definitely a audiobook you don’t want to end. It keeps you captivated with the interesting perspective of a man. It’s also fun trying to piece things together throughout the book, not to mention the spice is very nice.😉. Absolutely well done!

A Love that transcends time!

I really enjoyed this book by Shay Savage. It tells the story of Ehd a caveman who has lost his whole tribe so has been living alone for the past 4 years. Living in prehistoric times is very challenging and living along takes its toll on Ehd. One day when he checks his pit trap there is a young woman trapped in there!

To Ehd, this is a sign that Elizabeth, whom Ehd calls Bey, has been sent to him to be his mate. Although there are strange things about his mate like her unusual clothing, her incessant chatter and screaming, which gives him a headache, he will take care of her,protect her, and he wants to put a baby in her! Bey on the other hand is not interested in Ehd's advances!

This story is told in Ehd's point of view and is very unique in the way it unfolds and where it ends up between these two. Ehd has no understanding of language or how to write, it makes it hard for the two to communicate. In spite of all this, they find a love that is unmatched in its intensity, and they soon become everything to each other. I gave this book 5 unique stars and look forward to more by this author.

I read it and loved it and the audible version was just as great The narrator was perfect. The story stays with you for days.

(Spoiler)I wish she had taught him her language or that we could hear her point of view. But still, a great story -I finished in 2 days!

A little different

I like the book, but I would have liked to have heard her The females narration as well as the males. It would’ve helped a little bit to understand what she was going through. I did understand if she had communication problems but they made it as if he couldn’t learn language, that made me a little sad because she had tried very hard to educate her husband or material

An absolutely beautiful story!

It has been a looong time since I've read a book that punched me in the feels hard enough to make me cry, but this one did it. I kinda wondered just how interesting would a time travel romance be when a 21st-century girl is sent back to caveman days and it's written from the caveman's point of view. Well, as it turns out it's more than interesting - it's absolutely beautiful! If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it!
