Bajo esta premisa están escritos los tres relatos que componen Traiciones de la memoria. Después de la lectura de estos textos un híbrido de cuento, ensayo y autobiografía nos queda la extraña sensación de que lo que fue y lo que vendrá no se completa nunca del todo, salvo en las palabras que intentan apresarlo.
El primer relato es la reconstrucción minuciosa y precisa del origen de un soneto hallado en el bolsillo de un muerto. El segundo cuenta las venturas y desventuras de un exiliado colombiano en Turín. El último trata de indagar no en lo que hemos llegado a ser efectivamente, sino en lo que pudimos llegar a ser si en un momento de la vida hubiéramos
tomado otro camino.
Una memoria solamente es confiable cuando es imperfecta, y una aproximación a la precaria verdad humana se construye solamente con la suma de los
recuerdos imprecisos, unidos a la resta de los distintos olvidos.
