Publisher's summary

R. E. Howard created Conan the Barbarian, Red Sonja, and Solomon Kane. Together with H. P. Lovecraft and others, R. E. Howard was one of the most prominent purveyors of the Cthulhu Mythos (the best-known contemporary author of this fictional mythology is Stephen King). "The Horror from the Mound" and "The Fearsome Touch of Death" are excellent even by today’s standards - and the stories are further highlighted by incredible vocal performances, stunning music, and superb graphics on the cover.

Written long ago but still deliciously scary!

Creates a wonderful atmosphere of tension and horror, so nicely patiently built up. It's amazing to think how long ago they were written. One clear mark of that is the racist assumption the first protagonist has of his Mexican neighbor. It could be argued that it serves as a flag of the young man's arrogance. But he actually uses the term greaser, which simply not be tolerated today. Aside from that mark which dates the work as several decades old, the stories certainly work in contemporary times. Very well acted, nice nuances and accents.
