Publisher's Summary

After years of imprisonment and solitary confinement, enduring inhumane torture, Richard Wurmbrand emerges with a powerful testimony of courageous faith. Even today, believers are suffering and dying for Christ, yet their faith will not falter under the most unthinkable persecutions. In this stirring account, Wurmbrand (founder of The Voice of the Martyrs) encourages us to remember those in chains and equips us to help our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.

Shows the big picture.

Excellent book, well written.
1) u will immediately realize how communism & God can not mix.
2) shows big picture. Although we disagree about small things concerning God, love is above all.
3) we (USA) are spoiled with freedom. Don't take it for granted seek to help those those w/o our freedoms find God & the messiah.

A Very Moving Book

This a good book and seems more and more relevant in our current culture in which those who are Christians are belittled as being stupid and unintelligent. there are some reading differences from that and the book one is a description of Muslim vs. Muhammad ism and the other is found on page 153 where the reader says that there are nearly 60 versus 40 countries around the world where our brothers and sisters are systematically persecuted. otherwise the reader is very talented and using a Russian accent.

Powerful Testimony

How often do I stay quiet when Christianity is being slandered? Why, because I don’t want to become unpopular?

This recording will change my life, from this day forward.

Gripping! Am convicted!

I couldn't stop listening to the book even when I fell and twisted my ankle while jogging. I just sit up beside the road and continued listening while rubbing my ankle. Thank you for everything that I am now convicted to the cause.

A book every follower of Christ should read

This book is an eye opener regarding what some followers experience. It shows communism to be the antagonist targeting Christians; however, you will hear the persecuted's love for their enemies and for their God. It will inspire you to be thankful and love Him more while convict you in your complacency.

Wow.

A very stirring account the horrors of communism and the plight of the persecuted church at large. Reading this book has caused me to examine myself and consider all of my daily freedom's that I take for granted. I have been reminded of what the Bible says about one member suffering and how we all suffer and are bound together as one.

A MUST listen to anybody with sober thinking

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tortured for Christ?

Perseverance and commitment to be faithful of the suffering Christians wherever they suffer.

Any additional comments?

When I listened to the first 10-20 minutes I wanted to return this audiobook and something was holding me from it. If I had returned it I would have made one of the biggest mistakes in my Christian life and I would have missed what I see now as one of the strongest messages of my Christian life. The author said that when after 14 years of prison for his faith he came to the West he suffered more by witnessing what was happening with the Western Church - how the Christians in the West lost their zeal for God's teaching and diluted it with secularism and liberal thinking.
For me it is a wake-up call.
Thank you for this powerful reminder!!!

Very moving

I think there is a lot goes on in the world we don't know about and can't imagine. This book will give you an idea of what suffering there is and how believers get through it
