Publisher's Summary

When 16-year-old Jess arrives on foster carer Maggie Hartley's doorstep with her newborn son, Jimmy, she has nowhere else to go. Arriving straight from the hospital, having just given birth, Jess is like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Scared, alone, and practically a child herself, she is overwhelmed with the responsibility of caring for a newborn without the support of a loving family or her beloved boyfriend.

With social services threatening to take baby Jimmy into care, Jess knows that Maggie is her only chance of keeping her son. Maggie can see that Jess loves her boyfriend and wants to be a good mother to her son. Can Maggie help Jess learn to become a mum? Will the family ever be allowed to live together?

Amazing from Start to Finish!

Honestly between the writing and the narrator, I feel like I am sitting at the kitchen table having a coffee with a friend. Every story grips me from beginning to end, which always comes too soon. I have listened to all of her books, most of which in one day. Cannot get enough!

A very interesting and engaging fostering story

I loved this book and finished it in 2 days, feeling a sense of loss afterwards because I enjoyed it so much and the story had ended. Maggie writes very well, describing the highs and lows of fostering . The narrator was excellent also. I listened to 3 of Maggie's books in 6 days and loved them all. Please write some more, Maggie!

Excellent story with such brilliant detail keeping you more interested in the book and in suspense to hearing how their lives eventually ended up. Shows how a bit of help, care and understanding can go a long way into changing lives of young peop!e and children.
