Great book, average reading

What did you like best about this story?

The story is great - good detective/noir/magic yarn, some of it based off the most famous detective/noir stories (Holmes, Christie, Hammett).

How could the performance have been better?

Victor must learn what punctuation is all about.
He stops in middle of sentences, stress wrong words, etc.

great stories but appalling narration

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

As well as reading in a way that misses the sense, the narrator can be relied upon to mispronounce English, French, Irish ... It grates from the first, but becomes really irritating by the end.

How could the performance have been better?

A different narrator!
