Let me sum this up for you

This book harps on if you spank your child you are a bad parent. It stated the obvious things you already know i.e keep a safe environment, keep a routine, kids need sleep and stimulation but not too much etc.. Honestly if you are looking for advice on how to deal with difficult toddler behavior try The Happiest Toddler on the Block. The last thing any parent needs is to hear the obvious and be beaten over the head with it.

Love this book....

I have a child with anxiety and this book was recommended to us by our pediatrician. It helped us so much. It helps you gain perspective. The section about the Little Adult Assumption was particularly helpful for us. We still go back to this book for help and to refresh our skills. I have and still do highly recommend this to anyone struggling to discipline your child.

good to listen

Turned my non-listening toddler into a kid I can talk to. Remaining calm is the hardest part about toddler discipline. If you can do that and state what you mean, it creates an amazing trusting relationship.

Informative and interesting guide

Really helpful info when your kid is hitting that 2 1/2 - 3yr old boundary-pushing behavior and you feel like abandoning a gentle parenting approach, this helps you understand from their perspective and offers great advice.

Must listen to it.....

This is a must-read for any young parent or parent of a toddler. I found many books through, which I found from a colleague. As a licensed mental health professional, this respectful, communicative approach to discipline and respect for your child speaks volumes to me. It just makes sense.

Couldn't keep listening

I'm actually not sure if this book has any helpful tips as it was read/written so poorly and was hugely insulting to what would be its target audience ("bad parents") that I couldn't continue. I'm not going to bother to return to it.
