best audio book

the advice in this book has really turned around my interactions with my daughter and has enabled me to almost universally nip her tantrums in the bud. As a work-at-home parent, this translates to more happiness, greater productivity, and much, much less stress.

Great work done by author

I like the idea of positive discipline and being kind but firm, the book is easy to read and quite informative, and while it's full of examples I felt I need more real life situations, with what to expect in terms of then children's possible reactions to being "kind but firm", possible escalation. My child is only 14 months so I haven't experience tantrums and stubbornness yet but I think the book portrays positive discipline as an easily implementable miracle solution !

Deal with your kids

Best book for learning how to deal with your toddler. I have recommended this to so many people. It definitely takes retraining on the adults part but the strategies are very effective on my 20 month old.

7 Techniques for Disciplining the Difficult Toddle

We weren't specific struggling with controlling our two year olds behavior but after two friends started using the 7 Techniques for Disciplining the Difficult Toddler, my husbanded and I decided to give this a try. It took some getting used to for everyone but has worked great. Counting bad or stop behaviors with our daughter has really worked well for all of us. We are at the point where we rarely get to three and several stop behaviors have disappeared all together. I'd highly recommend this method.

Must listen to this audio....

I have a child with anxiety and this book was recommended to us by our pediatrician. It helped us so much. It helps you gain perspective. The section about the Little Adult Assumption was particularly helpful for us. We still go back to this book for help and to refresh our skills. I have and still do highly recommend this to anyone struggling to discipline your child.

I am a teacher. Everyone with kids should listen to this book. It's s great tool. If you can't get your child to listen and obey you are making their future much more difficult for them and for you.

Helpful Book

Any additional comments?

This book helps change your thinking about how kids think and recaps you that they do not have the high operative brain of an adult yet. And the whole idea that they do not comprehend the word no... Mind-blowing! It will definitely change how I think about the behavior of toddlers in general.

Interesting book....

I got a recommendation for this book from The Center For Parenting Education as I was looking for some additional info on better understanding my spirited 2-year old. I listened to A LOT of parenting books (carefully researching them beforehand), books on early childhood education, development and psychology, and this book stood out: it helped me feel more confident with my parenting.

7 Techniques for Disciplining

A friend of mine who is a grandparent with a slightly difficult child listen to this book. I highly recommended it to eliminate the drama in our lives. Older and far less patience, it helps make our grandparent relationship a much happier place

good to listen

Turned my non-listening toddler into a kid I can talk to. Remaining calm is the hardest part about toddler discipline. If you can do that and state what you mean, it creates an amazing trusting relationship.

Really helpful info when your kid is hitting that 2 1/2 - 3yr old boundary-pushing behavior and you feel like abandoning a gentle parenting approach, this helps you understand from their perspective and offers great advice.

Must listen to it.....

This is a must-read for any young parent or parent of a toddler. I found many books through, which I found from a colleague. As a licensed mental health professional, this respectful, communicative approach to discipline and respect for your child speaks volumes to me. It just makes sense.
