Talented author and enjoyable fantasy worlds

I admire the author, Melanie Cellier, and enjoy her novels. They are well-plotted, always interesting, and the worlds are fascinating. In both books, I felt the girls were whiners, far too passive, and then forgiving, about their families. It irritated me at times. Charlotte appealed to me more than Gwen, a stronger character. I still recommend this book and its prequel. I think I would have enjoyed this more in written format.

love Melanie's Kingdom stories!

this is a review of both since they were really 1 continous story.
The characters were compelling and made you want to know more almost immediately upon meeting them.
The bear reversal b/t Henry and the mountain kingdom was an interesting twist.
I have never read a book from this author that was boring or slow-paced. And she definitely has the cliffhanger at the end of the chapter- making you want to read 1 more chapter down to a fine art!

Thank you, Melanie! Your books are always so enjoyable with how they are filled with clean romance, adventure, and words of wisdom. I’ve really loved the whole Four Kingdoms series, and this story was a fun extension to the world you built.
