A great short book!

Plenty of action and romance with some spicey scenes with the H and h. I like longer written books normally but this was really good!

Goofy, but charming

Channel the Princess Leia scene when Luke first finds her in the Death Star…
Xandrie: “You going to stare at me all day or should we just get to the part where you go
and strap me to a stool and plunge me into a pond?”

I was expecting a gritty Red Sonja goes gladiator thing, but this felt a lot more Saturday morning cartoon.
Things come out of nowhere, like suddenly there’s a tiger, folks sing to power a fighter’s magic… or they get to the naughty bit and his beard is wet (and I think, wait, he has a beard? 😜) There’s modern dialogue like “my bad” and “just in case she was a weirdo, she kept her mouth shut.”

Xandrie: “It’s basically a sex kitten stripper outfit more than armor.”
This was a charmingly self-aware bit of fluff. Like everything else in this novella, the nooky is practically blink and you’ll miss it, and nothing more than talk of hard rods, taking from behind, riding his dragon, and wetting his beard (again, what?). This was kind of a hot mess…and yet, I don’t regret the sale purchase at all.

Update 9/2023: second installment dropped off in humor, action, and sense. Also, the narrators both did weird BeavisNButthead chuckling a lot. I don’t think I’ll be looking for other books by this author.

Great Fantasy Romance

Great Fantasy Romance, well written. This is the first book in the Age of Gold Series. I loved Xandrie and Rhey's story. Now I can't wait for the next book in the Series. This was my first listen to Katherine Littrell's voice. She has a great voice, easy to understand. I enjoyed my listening.

Better than expected!

The writing was just perfect, as was the narration from the audible. I really enjoyed the story telling, and although it was a short read, it never once lost me. I loved all the descriptions, nothing was ever too wordy or gaudy.

The surprising add-ins of humor were a great touch. I love when something serious can make me chuckle.

Overall a great read, definitely worth giving the second book a try!

Great Book

New fan, enjoyed listening to this book was very well read and entertaining, if you are a fan of dragons and magic I would definitely recommend, it reminded me of Eragon but only in minor ways, it sets itself apart and is definitely a new favorite.

OKAY / FMC ANNOYING/ HATE HER VOICE

**** AUDIBLE PLEASE POST MY REVIEW ****

I hate all of the internal dialogue, and FAST speaking!! The narrator was as ANNOYING as the FMC!! SHE didn't sound beautiful and sexy, she sounded ugly and stout very sturdy! Her male voices SUCKED and that lisp was CRINGE-WORTHY... The story was too quick, it was very hurried and feels like half is missing. Like they had to make a publishing date and this was all they had finished... Maybe if the author would've left out all of the internal dialogue there would've been more room for a story!... Waste of time!! WILL NEVER listen to this narrator or author EVER AGAIN!!

Dragons and mages and tigers oh my

I enjoyed this slow burn magic filled book! I am still wondering what the elves in the beginning had to do with it? We’re they ghost? I loved that the FMC sisters were on her side because she needed some family, even thou her found family was quite amazing!

Xandrie was nobodies stooge

Xandrie was nothing to her people. She was born of mages but she had no power. She was reduced to little more than a servant in her own home. Then there was Ray. He was dragon king. He was reduced to rescuer for his dear friend and her little friend. Ray had no idea that he would feel the magic that he did or the soul deep connection.

The story left me wanting more. I look forward to the next installment of the Age of Gold.

Narrator was on point. I just would have liked to feel or hear a difference in dialect between the north and the dragon kingdom.
