Publisher's summary

Tainted by scandal, Raven Eyez leaves New York to return to her mother's hometown of Heartsbridge, Texas, penniless with her reputation and career in tatters. If that wasn't bad enough, she reads in a celebrity magazine that her childhood sweetheart, who broke her heart five years ago, is getting married.

The stress is unbearable, and when she starts hearing voices whispering for her to right a wrong she has no recollection of making, she's sure she is going mad. Things go from weird to completely unbelievable when an innocent trip to a diner leaves her stranded in Heartsbridge in the year 1880.

Lance Thornton suspects his neighbors helped his fiancée leave him at the altar, so he's determined to ruin them. On his way to the bank to insist they foreclose on them for a loan he made, he bumps into Raven, mistaking her for his runaway bride, Charlotte. He decides he's not letting her get away this time, and refuses to listen to any of her claims that she isn't who he thinks she is and that she is from the future.

He's going to make this woman pay for embarrassing him in front of the entire town. Can Raven convince Lance he's seeking revenge on the wrong woman?

Enjoyed listening to this one

For the most part, I enjoyed this time-travel romance. I wasn't overly fond of Lance, but I loved all the other characters. It is a well-paced, imaginative story. I like the author's writing style, and will probably read more in this series.

I listened to the audible version and narrator, Meghan Kelly, did a wonderful job with all the different voices, particularly the male voices. I really enjoyed listening.

so good!!!

This was such a good book! Loved the struggle to turn a good-guy-gone-bad back into just a plain good-guy.

Western Time Travel Romance

A 2017 Western time travel romance, complete with Outlander jokes, where a NY baker returns to her Texas small town roots.

Hero is not lovable and plot needs editing. But, hard core time travel romance addicts might still enjoy it.

Kelly's narration is solidly good, complete with believable gender switching characterizations.

Audiobook people beware! This is a 13 book series from 2017 of which only 6 (Aug 2022) are available as audiobooks.

Time gives you what you least expect . . . .

What to do when running away from the one you thought you would marry only to be replaced? Raven was in this situation. She tries to escape the reality of what should have been her wedding but instead finds herself face to face with the man should have been her husband, or is he?

How do you mend a broken heart when the woman who said she would marry you just up and disappears only to show up months later with no explanation and an attitude to boot, then tells you that she is NOT who you know she is?

Crazy things happen when you walk into the Heartbridge Diner and need love. Follow Lance and Raven as they find that the person you think you love is actually in a different time and the only way to meet is through a whirling timepiece that gives you only so much time to find what you truly are looking for!

I liked Sandra's installment of the Timeless Heart series, and Meghan Kelly brought out the passion of Raven that only a great narrator can! I enjoyed this audible very much!

Just so-so time travel book

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I felt this book was lacking a lot to make it a good book, especially to be the first in a series.

Would you recommend Timeless Whisper to your friends? Why or why not?

No, there was a lot missing to draw me into it and want to continue listening.

Did Meghan Kelly do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

She switched up voices with different accents etc.

A short, fun, story that I wish was longer

Would you listen to Timeless Whisper again? Why?

I wouldn't listen to Timeless Whisper again because I rarely listen to books more than once unless they are nonfiction and I'm trying to learn something. This has no negative reflection on this particular audiobook though. This book was good, but with it being so short, there were a lot of holes and fast-forwards in the book that left me wishing that the book was a little longer and took more time to explain things.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the premise of the book. The time travel element was uniquely done and a fresh twist. The characters were likable, though I wasn't really invested in them. That's often hard to do in shorter books though. I think if Ms. Sinclair writes more in the series, it would be great to learn more about Raven and Lance, perhaps continue their story and fill in some of the holes in this story.

What does Meghan Kelly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Megan Kelly did a great job narrating this audiobook. It's so nice when you listen to a narrator that is easy to listen to and does such a good job with the different voices. I'd listen to an audiobook read by Megan Kelly again in a heartbeat, as there have been a few books that I've listened to with poor narrators and man, that can really make or a break an audiobook!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't think that there was a moment in the book that particularly moved me. I did enjoy when Raven and Ryder had their little "revealing" talk.

The story line is amazing and Meghan Kelly's performance is perfect.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Raven Eyez, spunky, spunky woman.

Which scene was your favorite?

I won't answer that because I don't want to offer any spoilers.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

See my answer to the previous question.

Absolutely amazing story

I loved this book. I have it as an ebook and thought this story is amazing. I love how two hearts are meant to be together and they find a way to get to each other and nothing stands in their way. I absolutely love hearing it read to me through audible. It allows me the freedom of doing things while listening to the story and I love that. Plus I really enjoy listening to the story being told through someone else, it put it in a different perspective for me and I really enjoy it. I absolutely love this series. Highly recommend all of Sandra E Sinclair's books

A new twist on timeless love

This book has a new twist on timeless love. The characters were very relatable. The plot was fun, but I felt there could have been more done with it. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing it to life. The writing felt a bit choppy with the way the flashbacks were written. I felt the book would have been less choppy and would have had a better flow if the flashbacks had been written as.... a part of the chronological storyline... instead. However, other than that the story was well written and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. Looking forward to the next volume!
