2013 Winner—Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award—Grand Prize and Young Adult Fiction Winner.

When Kate Pierce-Keller’s grandmother gives her a strange blue medallion and speaks of time travel, sixteen-year-old Kate assumes the old woman is delusional. But it all becomes horrifyingly real when a murder in the past destroys the foundation of Kate’s present-day life. Suddenly, that medallion is the only thing protecting Kate from blinking out of existence.

Kate learns that the 1893 killing is part of something much more sinister, and her genetic ability to time travel makes Kate the only one who can fix the future. Risking everything, she travels back in time to the Chicago World’s Fair to try to prevent the murder and the chain of events that follows.

Changing the timeline comes with a personal cost—if Kate succeeds, the boy she loves will have no memory of her existence. And regardless of her motives, does Kate have the right to manipulate the fate of the entire world?

Rivoting storyline!

Would you listen to Timebound again? Why?

Yes I am planning on listening to this book again. I listen to books on my long ride to work and home each day (1.5 hours). I could not wait to get back in my car to hear what would happen next. I was left wanting more. In fact when I am finished with this review I am going to see if there is a sequel.

What did you like best about this story?

This story was so detailed that I felt I was living the story. For a storyline that is so removed from true life I believed it.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to capture in this review.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Kate returned home to her grandmothers' house to find she was successful and her parents were in her timeline again.

Any additional comments?

The end really left me sad I want to know what is going to happen with Kate's new romance.

it's good but...

Narrator is awesome. Book has good premise and writing. I just feel like it got soo hung up the religion it became unpleasant to listen to. There is a lot of teenage romance type stuff too I'm just not real fond of.

Great book, but be prepared to read the trilogy!

I enjoyed this title a lot, as well as the two sequels. (I didn't read the half-sequels in the mix.) It's got an inventive spin on time travel, and while there's a little bit of a teenage love-triangle drama going on, it's not overly distracting to the story.

My one word of caution would be this: if you like this title, be prepared to listen to the two sequels shortly thereafter. It really reads as one big book, and there's a LOT to keep track of. Characters, places, times, different timelines, etc. I found that there's not much of a "recap" element in the sequels, so it can get a little confusing. I listened to book 2 about 6 months after I finished the first, and it was difficult to remember everything that had been going on. I started the third immediately after the second, which was much more helpful.

Loved It!

This was a great book. Narrator was really good, story line was great. It could be a little confusing at times, but still well worth the cost. Looking forward to listening to the next one.

Great story, not so great narrator

This story was pretty fun! Unfortunately, the narrator has only one voice for most of the male characters. You have to know what character is talking to know which one she is voicing. And the main character sounds like she is about to cry through most of the book when I don't think it is really read that way.

That said, it is a rally fun time travel story and I will be braving through the next book despite the narrator.
