Chase curled into a ball as the dinosaur exploded from the muck in a shower of gooey slime. A heavy foot slammed into the ground beside him, so close the impact bounced him into the air. His spine struck the point of a rock when he came back down, shooting streaks of pain through him like waves of rusty nails.

Trapped 140 million years in the past and desperately in need of water, fourteen-year-old Chase sets out to shadow a thirty-foot baryonyx. He knows that Baryonyx is a fish-eating dinosaur, and he’s certain the ferocious predator will lead him to a pond or stream with enough fresh water to save the expedition.
It seems like a good plan.
