Love this series
I love the checkmate series! I wish book one would get approved on Audible. I’ve been waiting but might have to give in and buy from another audio book store.
The narrators for this story did an amazing job. So many heavy topics and they did so well conveying them. Love this story and this author!!

Best series EVER
The checkmate series is by far my very favorite series EVER. I only wish I could find book one on audible. For whatever reason I could only find book two. Though I absolutely love this book, I live for Kane and Jess’s story. Have been waiting for what feels like my whole life for this series to be on audible. Listening to this story just does something real special for me.
The storyline is terrific. I recommend starting with book 1 before this one just simply because it really sets the scene for all of the things that Layne has gone through. Book 1 tells the story of Kane and Jess and gives a good background on the relationship dynamics of all the characters.
Book 2 continues on with Layne and Ang and their blooming relationship. Emilia does a great job of building suspense to their blooming relationship without making it annoying that they don’t just get together right away. And then shared some of that steamy romance you just can’t do without!
The narrators were good, certainly better than most narrators I hear on audible. They do a wonderful job of really portraying the characters. Totally worth the credit.
