Publisher's Summary

You look up when you wish to be exalted. And I look down because I am exalted.

The higher we soar the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.

One repays a teacher badly if one always remains nothing but a pupil.

There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy.

But the worst enemy you can meet will always be yourself; you lie in wait for yourself in caverns and forests. Lonely one, you are going the way to yourself! And your way goes past yourself, and past your seven devils! You will be a heretic to yourself and witch and soothsayer and fool and doubter and unholy one and villain. You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame: how could you become new, if you had not first become ashes?

good lord

Must be the worst narration ever. Sounds like Stephen Hawking's synthesizer put against Nietzsches work.I wish I had previewed before buying this book. What a waste of money.

Simply Amazing

A very good and dense book. I don't know if it was the prose, the translation, or the age of language in the text, but I found myself listening to a few passages multiple times to really understand it. But all-and-all, a great audio book.

Listen to it for better understanding

Great book, I recommend this to anyone looking to get Nietzsche before listening to his other works.

I Loved It

Brilliant and poignantly beautiful. There are so many truths spoken with exact clarity....if you can't wake up after this book, you're dead.

My Favorite

This is one of my favorite books by Nietzsche. Though provoking and enlightening to read. Brings forth issues that are still relevant and imposes ideas that leave you questioning much more than you would expect. Amazing philosopher. A littler crazy but amazing.

Excellent Deal

My favorite translation of Nietzsche's great book. Although the cover art often leads people to ask me if the book is about Jesus :)

Wonderful

You will wait in vain for the promised superman to emerge, for this is a story of his gestation, not his birth. We await his birth wondering who he is; and what his nature.

Lovely

There is nothing exceptional in normalcy, by definition, therefore only madmen can be geniuses. I Am well acquainted with schizophrenia, and Nietzsche’s work offers an insight into their intense inner world.
