Publisher's summary

For 17-year-old Elena Watkins, the world of Paegeia is not finished revealing all its secrets. During a summer break intended for relaxation, she discovers that her harrowing adventure to retrieve the King of Lion sword wasn't the destiny foretold by the cryptic Viden, a dragon with the ability to see a person's true fate. The words inked onto the page of the mysterious Book of Shadows remains black, and Elena must return to Dragonia Academy to discover their true meaning.

Upon her return to the magnificent castle, she has to face a challenge of a different kind - keeping her boyfriend, Lucian McKenzie, the Prince of Tith and love of her life, away from the dangerous new student, Paul Sutton. As a Wyvern, Paul has made it his mission to claim Elena as his rider, but he is proving to be more perilous than at first glance. Everyone knew that Wyverns were bad news and just as evil as the darkness lurking inside Blake Leaf, the Rubicon, who is forced to fight against his inner nature every day. But Elena can see a small light in the darkness, a destiny still unfulfilled, to prove that Wyverns can be claimed.

It has potential, I'm blaming the editor

I see talent in the writing but there are newbie issues (no I have no idea how many the author has written, just an opinion). For one, it needs to decide on an audience. The story line and easy read suggests preteen-early teens yet throws in cursing and sex like trying for a 20+ audience. Then they will be talking in one place then turn around and be in another making it hard to picture or follow. I'll think, 'wait what?' and go back to see if I missed them walking somewhere else but nope. And then in the middle it like, re-explained characters & the story like it was a new book and we had to be reminded? I'm guessing it's an audible thing, like the book was actually released in peices maybe?

Not an Author, just an Avid reader

Pretty Good. Could be better

I keep waiting on something to develop between Elaina and Blake. There are plenty of hints that something is coming between then but after awhile its like, Come on already!

Actually really good...

If you can get past all the teenage angst and "wanting" that goes on (this is YA for sure), the storyline is actually pretty well rounded and more complex than I thought it would be (and the narration is great). As a former librarian, I've read my fair share of books and have developed a knack for figuring out the storyline ahead of time. This one kept me guessing though! Well done author - very thankful I'll be able to jump right into the next one!

Loved Better than the first book!!!

The first book moved really slow to me and Elena was just too plain!!!! Now shes special and in this book she finds her talents! The story line moves alot faster ! It was really a great read! I got emotional from her reactions to losing her first love!

nice second installment

She turns out to be a sniffiling little girl. she makes me mad as hell. Howevwr, the overal people are sleep walking and relying on kids to fix their problems. to act instead of reacting with a powerful enemy. just letting shit happwn to them also just sticks in my crawl. War waits for no one and regrets comes from reaction instead of taken the wheel themselves. Frustratiting.

The ending!!!! Bring tissues!!!!

Weird that there was 1 narrator for the first chapter then resumed in the origional narrator’s voice.
*If you want the summary of book one go to chapter 6 - Weird that the summary of the first novel was in chapter 6 & not in the beginning.

Loved the multiple POVs in this novel! Gives you more insight for what is happening & answers questions that the FMC can’t provide.

First part of the novel was slow but the 2nd part was awesome! Hang tight & preserver through the first part it’s worth it! This book gave all the feels at the end, bring some tissues & read at home so people can’t see you ugly cry!

The Plot Thickens

Would you consider the audio edition of Thunderlight to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version. However I learned later that this book incorporates a shorter book and a longer book. I couldn't understand why the author spent so much time rehashing important moments that were just a few chapters before until I looked up the series. A lot of the review was simply unnecessary and created distraction from the story. That's not necessarily a narration issue but if it was in print, I would have read the two books seperately and it would have been a little less annoying. But seriously, I skipped the entirety of chapter 6 when I learned it was just review of the first book. Way too much reviewing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sammy Leaf because she's got this undying love of her brother even as he becomes even more of a jerk. And she keeps standing by her friends showing a great deal of compassion in everything she does. Humble and helpful but not a pushover.

Which character – as performed by A. T. Chandler and Erin Moon – was your favorite?

I think Becky had the most unique voice and character. She's read as a blunt, no nonsense sort of flippant but also deeper-than-you'd-think kind of character.
