Publisher's Summary

When Alice steps through a mirror, she enters a reflection of her world where backwards is forwards, the future is remembered, and only the opposite of logic makes sense. Increasingly befuddled, she’s challenged by the belligerent Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the nonsense rhymes of the Jabberwocky, and the discovery that she’s a pawn in a living game of chess. To become queen and find her way home, Alice must play.

A masterpiece of the absurd, Lewis Carroll’s sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland continues to inspire artists, filmmakers, musicians, and writers after all these years.

Comments from a reader

This a fun book on the imagination of children. I recommend that parents read it to their children. Even if you are an adult this book will be fun for you.

Alice in Wonderland

Possibly my favourite all time work of fiction, as it conjures up so many childhood memories & was possibly the first book I read as a child. ( I believe I saved tokens from a breakfast cereal box, for which I received a paperback copy of Alice in wonderland & through the looking glass with illustrations by John Tenniel ) It's one of our chief works of literature, and very enduring. Also (this is very important) it's worth remembering that neither this book or its sequel have been rendered a decent service by the film industry, so the true magic & innocence of the book have never been truly captured on film (if it ever a can). Regardless of age, give this book a listen. Michael Page performs adequately as narrator.
