Publisher's Summary

"I will grant you three wishes, whatever your heart desires...."

Ashley

Ashley’s life is a mess. Her estranged husband filed for divorce and dropped an even bigger bomb - he’s leaving her for the receptionist.

Heartbroken and, yeah, a little blind with fury, Ashley ditches work and goes knocking on the door of the city’s dark darling, Dae Blackwell. Someone once told Ashley that Dae had the power to make your deepest desires come true, and Ashley is desperate for something other than this pressing hurt.

Dae

As djinn, Dae has spent the last several hundred years striking deals with humans and then twisting their wishes for his own amusement. These silly little mortals with their petty dramas and tiny life spans.

But after he makes a deal with Ashley: the usual, three wishes, whatever her heart desires...everything’s different, right from the start. He’s never felt such a powerful attraction in his entire life. He can’t keep his eyes - or his hands - off her luscious curves.

He keeps making excuses to see her and spend time with her, even though he ought to be keeping his distance. Because he has a secret. He needs to convince Ashley to give up her third wish in order to save his family. She’s the perfect mark, the one they’ve been waiting for.

As their deal nears its end, though, Dae comes to a startling realization: he just might be willing to risk everything he holds dear in order to have the one woman who lights his dark djinn heart on fire.

Three Wishes is the first book in the Blackwell Djinn series, a steamy paranormal romance about four handsome and powerful djinn brothers. Three Wishes can be listened to as a stand-alone. HEA and no cliffhangers.

So Sweet

This story flowed so well, although if you are sensitive over cheating you may want to look elsewhere. I enjoyed the story line and the family dynamics.

An excellent story and amazing narration

I absolutely adored this story! In a sea of paranormal stories, it stands out for the originality of its storyline. I loved the premise of a djinn and granting wishes. The story hooked my interest and I had to finish it as soon as I started listening. The world building was amazing with enough back story to support it, while the characters were well developed and likable. The narrators did an excellent job bringing the characters to life. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series!

Amazing

I absolutely love the Blackwell Djinn.

Narrated by Rupert Hawthorne and Ember Wingfield, they did a fantastic job narrating the story. They were perfect portraying the characters.

A definite book to listen to!

Captivating

This story exceeded my expectations I don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't a story which gave us such depth of characters. All the characters were interesting and well developed and although this book was Dae and Ashley's story I now want to know more about his grandfather/uncle Red and his brothers, Mad, Thorin and Poe, especially Poe!

Mikki Kardnow gave us a set of well-developed characters and a back story which was both interesting and compelling. We learn that djinn can only use their magic when they are invoked and that they have a limit to the number of wishes they can grant. As well as the main story we have interesting glimpses into the past and learn why each man/ginn is as he is.

Ashley went to Dae to ask for three wishes, she had just been served divorce papers but wanted her husband back although why I will ever understand. Once she met Dae and the rest of his family her feelings towards her ex. changed but could she trust the feelings she was beginning to develop for Dae? Would Dae be able to ask her for her third wish knowing that it could put her at risk or were his feelings becoming too deep? Dae and Ashley's story was funny yet moving and I loved the way it developed into a true love story. I fell a little in love with Dae, he loved so deeply and wanted so much to help Red. Ashley's character became better the more I got to know her and as she grew stronger.

I thought I knew how the book would end but no I got it wrong the ending surprised me. An excellent story which although complete did leave the door open of more.

The narration of this book by Rupert Hawthorne, Ember Wingfield was very well done they worked well together and brought an interesting touch to each of the characters.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing this review.

be careful what you wish for...

I very rarely give a book a 5 star rating but this is one of the few. I had to put down this read / listen and come back to it and the whole time I couldn't get off my mind off - I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am addicted to these characters and the idea of djinn - which is a testament to how well Kardnov writes characters that you can relate to but also escape with. The narrators on this listen were phenomenal! Dae's voice and accent made me melt - I could listen to him read the phone book, or the dictionary. Storyline was engaging and flowed really well - never got bored (although there was a little repetition). The dual point of view was also well done. Honestly - I just loved this listen and can't wait (please hurry) for more in this series!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

:)

This was a terrific story about trust, carpe diem, "be careful what you wish for", sorrow, regret, hope, forgiveness, family, friendship, loss, and love. The characters were interesting and well rounded, and the chemistry between Ash and Dae was sizzling. Three Wishes was also the start of what appears to be a most promising series, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I was given a free copy of Three Wishes, but that did not affect my review.

Wonderfully tied in anticipatory knots

The author and both narrators were new to me but I'll certainly be looking for other audio-books by them in the future.

While I don't tend to indulge in supernatural or fantasy novels, I received a free audio-code for this novel through a Facebook group giveaway and I'm delighted that I did. This unique story line was intriguing and kept me in anticipatory knots. While the main female character frustrated me with some of her decisions, I know that her viewpoints are not uncommon with regards to remaining in a life, work, and relationship rut; wanting to keep the comfort of familiarity going.

The story progressed at a perfect rate while in actuality was only a few days, it was easy to follow and comprehend. The author painted very vivid pictures of the story line but leaving the physical descriptions of the characters just vague enough to conger mental images on my own. My only real gripe was that the novel cover model does not resemble the description of Dae.

I look forward to listening to the next books in this series and highly recommend this listen.
