Publisher's Summary

Be honest. You don't see yourself as a judgmental person. But in my experience, many of us have deep-seated ideas of who the homeless are: alcoholics, addicts, people who are mentally ill or lazy, and criminals.

Although these things may be true in some instances, this understanding overlooks the deep and rich character of many people who live in the homeless community.

This book contains stories of some of my homeless friends, people who have meant a great deal to me and have profoundly changed my life for the better. Take time to hear their stories, discover something about their character - and maybe yours - and dispel your myths about the homeless.

preachy

We get it, you're an adult who has an imaginary friend. Guess what though? You're imaginary friend does absolutely nothing for the homeless, so why are you preaching in this book? I'm requesting a refund. Absolutely useless piffle.

Really wanted to like it

The book was very good up to chapter 8, then it started talking about God and shoving religion down my throat

True facts

As a person that is very concerned about the homeless and food insecure I agree.

Alright, too heavy on the Bible stories

There are some great stories about the authors encounters and work with the homeless, but these are too few and far between the Jesus and bible references.
