Thorns Among the Tulips

Sofia de Graaf has lived a quiet life outside of Detroit, Michigan for most of her life. However, that was not always the case. Sofia has a dark past that she has kept secret from nearly everyone, even from those who are closest to her. A history too painful to relive by telling the stories over and over again. When her granddaughter, Zoe, comes for a visit and ends up in trouble with the police, Sofia decides to share with her a part of her life she long thought behind her.

Sofia grew up during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. After losing most of her family to the violent oppression of the SS, Sofia and her sister, Maija, join the Dutch Resistance to get revenge on the man responsible, Major Klaus Becker. Using the depravity of the Nazi’s to their advantage, the young girls lure the unwitting Germans to their demise, inching closer to Becker himself.

During the course of the war, the girls learn the true horror of the Nazis brutality and come to realize just how deep their treachery goes. Motivated by more than just a desire for revenge, the girls continue seeking out their unsuspecting victims, who don't realize until it's too late, that these two beautiful Dutch tulips have thorns.
