Publisher's summary

The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man offers a full-throttle look at New York city’s fascinating cast of characters: the wiseguys, rogues’ gallery celebrities and settings that range from the mean streets of the South Bronx to Manhattan’s plushest penthouses. And when Fitzsimmons—a born-and-bred Gothamite, NYPD officer, model, actor, WNBC television personality, and celebrity bodyguard—plunges into the frenetic, fabled New York singles scene, his life takes a turn that he never anticipated.

Told with large dollops of humor, jaw-dropping details, and not a little poignance, The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man takes listeners on an extraordinary journey that’s anything but ordinary.

Extraordinary!

Tom Fitzsimmons created a life full of celebrities and interesting characters like Donald Trump. The autobiography gives readers a rare view of how the rich and famous experience NYC. The man is talented—he’s a former cop who can write, act, model, and body guard. After three failed marriages, Tom finds, and ultimately loses, his true love and soulmate Wendy.

Totally entertaining read

The author grabs you from the first few sentences and takes you on a fast paced journey of his interesting past. I especially like how he wove into his story the current events of those days and the general mood of the Big Apple. You felt like you were right there! His life story illustrates how chance encounters can change your path in life. You just have to be open for them and jump in. Mr. Fitzsimmons did so with no thought about looking back. What a ride!
