This past week, Sony took the stage with their first official State of Play showcase of 2023 and revealed a ton of exciting upcoming releases. As well, Microsoft, Activision-Blizzard, and several other companies met in Brussels to challenge some of the EU regulators' claims and some interesting developments came to light.

As the 2023 release window finally begins to heat up, so does movement in the business side of the gaming industry. Despite every major tech company making cuts to staff and expenses, Sega decides to follow Nintendo and give its employees raises, while Embracer Group reveals some disappointing Q3 stats and Take-Two experiences a major shake up in sister developer Firaxis. As well, it looks like Sony might finally be opening the door to negotiations in Microsoft’s potential Activision-Blizzard acquisition.
