Publisher's summary

A smart and sexy romance about a grumpy single dad on a mission of revenge and the girl he can’t leave behind by USA Today best-selling author Tia Louise.

Hope

I blame the alcohol. I lost my restaurant business, was forced to sell my dad’s cherished 1967 Chevy Impala, and I got a little drunk. Now I’m waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I’ve ever seen, speeding down the highway like a bat out of hell. Ice-blue eyes hit mine with stomach-clenching force.... And he swerves onto the shoulder, ready to kick me out. Needless to say, our romance doesn’t start out sweet.

J.R.

Two years ago, I hugged my little boy good-bye and told him I’d be right back. Next thing I knew, I was arrested and sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit. Until they let me out early.... Now I’m headed home to confront the man who put me away. A lie put me behind bars, and I’m ready to find the truth. I don’t have time for a sexy girl with pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes stowed away on the backseat of my new car. My mission is to get my son back and clear my name. Love is not on the agenda. It never is, though, is it?

This Much Is True is a single-dad opposites-attract stand-alone romance. No cheating. No cliff-hangers.

Even better in audio!

I absolutely LOVED This Much Is True, but the audio? Gah, it's even better! Jason Clarke is a favorite narrator of mine -- I will listen to any book he puts out, and the emotion he pours into his work is evident. Jason and Samantha as JR and Hope are absolutely incredible. The emotion in this story is palpable. It tugged at my heartstrings and had my stomach dropping listening to this story! It's such a beautiful story -- this has been one of my favorite listens in 2020, and would recommend it to everyone!

Incredible book!📚 Perfect narration! 🎧

😷 I've read plenty of books during the pandemic and yet none of them felt as they were literally happening during that period of time, and it felt so real and like this story happened while I was sitting at home in a lockdown or something. I actually really loved that!

😍 When I started this book I don't think I was prepared for the amount of emotions it evoke in me.
And to choose those narrators was the most genius thing to do because those two are THE BEST!
I couldn't breathe when Jason voiced how heartbroken he was without seeing his son.
I could totally understand Hope when she really wanted someone who wasn't sure he could give her what she wants.

💙 J.R was the grump I love so much! Those have the biggest heart and the biggest love to give.
💙 Hope's life was actually really interesting.
I loved that she wasn't boring and plain. She had courage and character!

💙 And oh, I loved Scouts SO MUCH! He was such a great addition! I actually can't wait to read about his story...

P.S - sausage ARE messy!
That made me laugh so hard after this rollercoaster of a book I couldn't not add it to my review! 😆

📚 Incredible book! Loved every minute of it! The narration was perfection and I had almost-cry moments so many times while listening. It was AMAZING! 🎧

This much is true

Very good story. He’s been falsely convicted and in prison. Ends up on a road trip with his actor brother and a drunk shoeless girl lol. Has a grandma and a cute son. They end up on a mission to clear his name . Kinda agnsty at times but sweet too.

I fell in love!!!!

I fell in love with this story. So heartfelt it was beautifully written. The narration was great especially Jason 🥰 first time listening to Samantha I’ve listened to her under another name her female voice was very good, but her male parts was a little rough for me. Overall..... GREAT LISTEN!!!

Hope Eternal

Really enjoy this story between JR, Hope and Scout. What a bond the 3 of them form on their drive across the country. Tia Louise is quickly becoming one of my favorite go to authors!

Nice attempt, well read, but plot holes

I’ll listen to anything Jason Clarke reads. He does an amazing job of bringing each of his characters to life in their own unique way. Samantha Brentmoor was good, except for a few mispronunciations and occasionally calling the character “Scout” “Scott.”

However, the story didn’t ring true to the characters, storyline, or reality. None of these are spoilers, just small as sides.
-The brother who is so close to him never got in touch during his court case or while he was in prison...
-or his father
-or his grandmother

-Not knowing how to do an audio or video recording on his iPhone, even though he had it before going to prison, is under 30, and was only away for 18 months. The story is set in 2020. That means that in 2018, he was that iPhone illiterate? He wasn’t away for 18 years, just 18 months.

-The dad. He is not really believable as a character. A central issue in the novel without motivation or even clear actions. Not even a cliffhanger.

-John/ RJ: he describes himself in one way in the beginning, acts differently, describes himself differently later in the novel, and none of the descriptions are really accurate.

Fantabulous!!! ❤️❤️❤️

This was a fun, emotional, all the feels kinda story. You’ve got a growly man, J.R., unjustly accused & sentenced for a crime he didn’t commit. He’s a man with a plan and now that he’s out, he’s about to get on it. Hope is an optimistic beauty, who, like everyone else, is down on her luck. After a bottle of wine, she falls asleep in the back seat of her dads car, the night before it’s to be sold. She wakes up somewhere out on the road with a hot and handsome stranger. After a bumpy start, and a stop to pick up J.R.’s brother, Scout, they end up having one heckuva road trip. And let me tell you, there were some twists, holy cow moments, that will get you kinda yelling (at least I did!). And I’m gonna say, J.R. and Hope, yowza, they have some intense heat and connection going on there. Big time. There were so many ups & downs, yet such perseverance. And in all, there was hope and love ❤️ And I completely loved it! And of course, I always love listening to Jason Clarke telling me stories 😍 yum 😍 Samantha Brentmoor does a great job as Hope also. It most definitely is a great listen!!

I’m In love with this book.

OMG! It’s been a while since I devoured a book like this. I couldn’t put this one down, I love everything about this story. Fair warning JR will melt your heart and your panties. His love and adoration for his little boy has me in a puddle of love. Hope it’s a breath of fresh air, she is amazing. The story is different and it’s guaranteed to stay with me for a long time. I’m looking forward to read about Jr’s brother.
