Story
I’d sworn off men. And then I met Nick Christiansen. Technically, I fell for him, literally, the moment I landed in his quarterback-sized arms and looked into those soulful eyes. I blame the rum. Or was it tequila? Spoiler alert: It was those delectable dimples. Either way, Nick was stupidly handsome and ridiculously charming. He held me like he cared and listened to me like I mattered. Captivated by great conversation and rock-hard abs, Nick had me reconsidering the “No Men” promise I’d made myself. I still regret walking away the next day.

In the Virginia countryside outside of Washington, DC, Addy Wentworth was on a mission to make a new life for herself. When the opportunity arose, she settled in horse and wine country. Experiencing more than her fair share of tragedy and loss, she had plans for her future, one where failure wasn’t an option. And not just because people and cows were counting on her. Boss rule number one: Never sleep with your employee. Apparently, rules aren’t my thing. Because the moment I wake up naked next to my hot-as-hell new employee, I want to go for round two. I'm not exactly Prince Charming. Some call me The Wolf. I don’t do love, and I sure as hell don’t do forever. But one look at her, and I become a one-woman man. She has a British accent and a car that won’t start. I’m in a rush, so I do what I need to do and send her on her way - sure I’ll never see her again. Then she shows up at my company to interview for a new position.

The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother. My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.

Why is my heart racing every time his blue eyes lock on mine? Why does every word he rumbles in my ear make my body come alive? After all, he was there the day my world fell apart.

Publisher's Summary
A smart and sexy romance about a grumpy single dad on a mission of revenge and the girl he can’t leave behind by USA Today best-selling author Tia Louise.
Hope
I blame the alcohol. I lost my restaurant business, was forced to sell my dad’s cherished 1967 Chevy Impala, and I got a little drunk. Now I’m waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I’ve ever seen, speeding down the highway like a bat out of hell. Ice-blue eyes hit mine with stomach-clenching force.... And he swerves onto the shoulder, ready to kick me out. Needless to say, our romance doesn’t start out sweet.
J.R.
Two years ago, I hugged my little boy good-bye and told him I’d be right back. Next thing I knew, I was arrested and sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit. Until they let me out early.... Now I’m headed home to confront the man who put me away. A lie put me behind bars, and I’m ready to find the truth. I don’t have time for a sexy girl with pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes stowed away on the backseat of my new car. My mission is to get my son back and clear my name. Love is not on the agenda. It never is, though, is it?
This Much Is True is a single-dad opposites-attract stand-alone romance. No cheating. No cliff-hangers.

This Much Is True
This Much Is True is a single dad opposites attract storyline that will melt your heart. This is a fun and entertaining listen with a roadtrip. Little Jesse was so sweet and adorable I loved his character. Favourites, Gran and Scout hilarious. Jr and Hope were compelling characters with off the charts chemistry. Secrets exposed and action throughout keeping your ears tuned.
Narrators Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmour were perfect bringing the story and the characters to life. I love listening to Jason Clarke as his inflection is soothing. Samantha Brentmoor is a talented narrator and she nailed the performance of Hope.

Road trip to love
Great story that includes the Covid pandemic but doesn't focus on it. Hope is struggling like everyone else during this difficult time to stay afloat and when things gets bad enough she must sell her dads prize car she has no idea where that will lead her. J.R. is released early from prison due to the virus and he is determined to see his son and prove he is innocent from the crimes that put him in prison two years ago. He has no idea what purchasing a car online will bring him but in the end it saves him.
This story has some mystery, lots of built up heat between Hope and JR and the love of a father for his young son that gets him through. They are dealing with the real struggles lot of us are dealing with currently with the virus and how just traveling across country is a challenge we have not experienced before. It is heartwarming and I loved it.
Jason Clarke and Samantha Broadmoor are great as JR and Hope. Loved listening to both of them.
I highly recommend this book.

His love and adoration for his little boy has me in a puddle of love. Hope it’s a breath of fresh air, she is amazing. The story is different and it’s guaranteed to stay with me for a long time. Even better in audio!
I absolutely LOVED This Much Is True, but the audio? Gah, it's even better! Jason Clarke is a favorite narrator of mine -- I will listen to any book he puts out, and the emotion he pours into his work is evident. Jason and Samantha as JR and Hope are absolutely incredible. The emotion in this story is palpable. It tugged at my heartstrings and had my stomach dropping listening to this story! It's such a beautiful story -- this has been one of my favorite listens in 2020, and would recommend it to everyone!

Hope and Jr
Jr just got out of prison where he was serving time for a crime he didn’t commit. A chance meeting with Hope makes for an interesting road trip to see his son. Along the way Jr picks up his brother Scout who makes the road trip even more fun. Jr’s a grumpy man with a chip on his shoulder because of what he’s been through but the longer he’s around Hope, the more he softens. Hope and Jr have great chemistry. I was invested in their story from the very first page.
Jason Clarke gave a 5 star performance as always. While Samantha Broadmoor gave a good performance, when she voiced Jr it was almost too gruff.

quirky but fun !
This was an interesting book narrated by Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor. they both did a fantastic job with these quirky but lovable characters. I wasn't completely sold on the storyline but it worked ! Hey, its 2020 so anything goes.
I really loved so many aspects of this book. From the fact that it includes the stress and uncertainty of covid but doesn't focus on it to the frustration of being falsely accused and incarcerated. Samantha portrayed Hope perfectly, who has this beautiful positive outlook despite what she is going through. JR is a good guy underneath the anger and resentment. They end up on a road trip together with his adorable brother ( who gets his own book next)
Tia did not disappoint with the 5 alarm sex scenes and my only regret is there weren't more of them!! Jason and that growly voice was everything and he owned JR's character.

I loved this story! This is a standalone however I can’t wait for the next book “Trouble” to find out about Scout because I love these characters so much. My heart went out for Hope, J.R., and Scout. I didn’t want to stop listening, I was hooked from the start. There was drama but not much between the main characters. The narration was great. I definitely recommend this book.

Riveting love story
I really enjoyed this story because it drew me in from the start and despite the injustice JR has suffered his main focus is the welfare of Jesse his little boy. But then JR's heart begins to melt with the sudden appearance of a young woman named Hope

Hope for redemption
I am usually a slow listener but I got through this audiobook in a couple of sittings. Tia Louise has written a story about family, love, and redemption. JR has been imprisoned unjustly; when he gets out on parole, he is desperate to see his son Jessie and clear his name. He asks his brother Scout to help with the driving & ends up taking Hope and her vehicle, Metallicar. The three have a bit of a road trip & we get to learn about the characters, what has happened, and the mission they're now on. Jason Clarke is one of my favourite narrators, and he was bang on for this story. Samantha Broadmoor did a great job of bringing Hope to life. Loved it!

Her decision to sell the car that held so many special memories for her and her father was difficult, but she was running out of options. After a few drinks too many she decides to take a nap in the back seat and the next thing she thing she knows she finds herself on a road trip with J.R. and his brother.
After being wrongfully convicted JR has been released from prison and all he wants is to be able to see the son he adores and uncover the truth of why his life took such a drastic turn and to right the wrongs of the past. The last thing he wants is being saddled with an extra passenger, but it might just be the best thing that could have ever happened to him.
Hope and JR couldn’t be more different as he is a pessimist while she is an optimist, and he is grumpy while she is cheerful. She makes him wish that things were different and although they had their challenges they weren’t about to stop fighting for their love and the life they are destined to have together. The performance of the narrators has you empathizing with the characters and invested in the outcome.

What a story!
The broody, growlie JR, falsely imprisoned and ripped away from his son is on a mission. Buying a car is just the start. When he finds the previous owner, Hope in the back seat, drunk with no shoes, he has not choice but to take her with him, right? And our story begins. Tia Louise masterfully crafts a story, in our current pandemic with masks and all! I love it! JR is the epitome of all grumpy, misunderstood men but what is underneath the scowl is worth looking at. Hope is the eternal optimist, and even though she is down on her luck, she refuses to let go of her dreams. Their chemistry is unmistakable, but can these two act on it? JR has baggage, a lot of it, and he is holding back. Hope is the opposite, so where there is a will, Hope will find a way. Add in the quirky, good looking brother Scout, who had me laughing so many times, and this story is gold. It's an easy listen with relevant issues and will make your ears happy. I can't wait to hear Scout's story!
Narrated by the incredible team of Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor is just that something extra we all love to get. Clarke is such a talent, able to come across as that broody man in one breath and the crafty, quick witted brother in the next. Brentmoor adds to the fun with her amazing take on Hope. She fills her with optimism and love. I enjoy this team whenever they narrate together and this was pure enjoyment.
