Super fluid action thriller... amped-up Chandler in space.

A hugely entertaining and smartly written book.

A sheer pyrotechnic triumph: wonderfully imaginative, written in overdrive, mercilessly violent... A twisted conundrum and a hell of a ride!

Totally absorbing, heart' thumping. Totally ruthless protagonist, Mars future environment and cultures deftly and vividly painted.

Great story, let down a little by the reader

The only downside to this book was the person reading it used quite a large range of volume, making it impossible to hear all of the story without deafening myself on the loud parts.

Swearing the entire time. Gets old.

It got through about 25% of it and had to return it. Very little actually happens. The dialog is all swearing and sexual metaphors. It loses it's impact after constantly droning on. Characters are all very thin and not quite believable. Example (spoiler:)

"I'm going arrest you for suspicion of murder... Oh wait a different more major crisis is happening. Congratulations, you are now promoted to be a body guard. We can't afford to send real cops, so you're it."

Really? That's how they do things on Mars?
