Growing up in the South Bronx, her friends were the hustlers, hookers, and gang members who struggled in the face of futility, who sold drugs instead of living on food stamps, who settled matters with fists, knives, and guns because it seemed their only option, who stood tall against broken dreams. Dash's rough upbringing shaped the rest of her life - her relationships, her politics, even her faith. She has seen how conservative and liberal policies play out in the real world, and her experiences have made her the proud conservative she is today.
That's why Stacey Dash, a Fox News contributor and Hollywood actress best known for starring in the 1995 classic Clueless, is now telling her story. Amid all the heated racial rhetoric and the divisive language that flows from TV, the Internet, self-appointed Black spokespeople, and even President Obama, Dash feels compelled to speak out and say something true about race, politics, and America.

Engrossing story with a huge lesson
Great story. Just because you are raised in the Hood doesn't mean you are relegated there for life. You are not a victim. She tells her story with shocking frankness and shares the life lessons she has learned along the way. Highly recommended.

Nothing Short of Perfection
Stacey Dash is a strong and intelligent woman who has overcome so much. Meanwhile I disagree with her opinion on Mitt Romney, BET, and Black History Month, I think she should be involved in politics or education. She gives the cold hard facts about the decline of education in America. She or someone like her should become an educator. I am very pleased with this book and listened to it by taking advantage of the amazon audible free trial but it would definitely be worth buying.

This book has so much depth and wisdom in it. I would highly recommend reading this especially if you want the truth on what is going on in our country. Stacey is such a strong and courageous Mom.

Wow Just Wow
This is why I love memoirs so much you never know how people grew up until they write a memoir. I never knew she had it so bad in to come out the other side. What an amazing story. Thank you for sharing.

Very good
Stacey Dash I knew was a talented writer from reading her blog. I would jokingly "harass" her to write a book on Twitter. I knew she would have a fascinating story to tell... But this went beyond my expectations...
