Virtual Voice is annoying but the content was nice

I just passed the BCETMB last week! I used this audio book, an online anatomy subscription (KenHub), and the online practice exam on the NCBTMB website (I used this the most). I also bought the Momtrix card but I felt like they were sub-par (way too much information and jumbled into one paragraph without numbering the cards). Also, check out the outline on NCBTMB website. It is a really nice outline!
Back to the audio book! I like how Phillip did a nice review of topics. It was laid out really well and overviewed a little bit and then went deeper later in another sections. I thought it was a well thought out book. The section on what is Local verses Global Contradictions felt more subjective and needed more information before really saying It was a contra-indication for massage. Most of the time it depends on whether something is Acute verse Chronic and if the disease is stabilized. Other than that section if was a well welcomed break from reading while studying for the BCETMB. It really highlighted fact of importance in a less overwhelming way while highlighting differences for example pulmonary vein has oxygenated blood
If you are on the fence.... It is worth the purchase! Just remember it is most likely a supplement to other materials needed to pass.

BORING! Literally monotone regurgitation of a dry textbook

As a Massage Therapist for 16 years, is the information in this book accurate and viable? Yes. Is the delivery palatable, relatable or interesting in any way? No. Not in the slightest. This is the driest rendering of what is arguably already challenging information to absorb.

Why can’t a book about anatomy, kinesiology inject some humor, antidotal stories, warmth to make it more palatable. If you want to listen to something that will be more engaging, listen to David Moreno’s MBLEX podcast. (I AM NOT PAID TO SAY THIS). He uses real life examples and brings some energy to the material.

I have been searching high and low for study information that doesn’t act like instant melatonin; which is this book. Save your money or points people and SKIP THIS SAHARA DESSERT DRY BOOK.
