Publisher's summary

In this volume, we meet the Johnsons, a family of doomsday preppers who were prepared for the impending meteor strike. As they hole up in their Twin Pines Ranch bunker, they decide it's time to investigate the outside world. There's been no word from David Wilson, who is holed up at the high school bunker.

Not the right format

Like part 1, this isn't really a short story, it's a description or loose screen play of dialog and sterilely describing actions. I think this is someone describing a comic book -- or at least a few pages of one. It either needs visuals or better writing to compensate for the lack of them. Maybe future stories could come with a pdf. To its credit though, part 2 is slightly more descriptive than part 1.

I hope future episodes develop characters. Uninvited Guests is just a bunch of names. Having no personality traits or even physical descriptions means that not only do I not care about the people, I can't even keep them separate in my head.

The series isn't without hope. It's probably just a rough beginning to what seems to be meant for a long run.

just ok

So, yeah... this is audio that goes with a comic book. I'm kind of underwhelmed by the comic if I'm being honest. It seems like video clips or still action shots that have been edited to look like a comic book drawing.... sort of. Obviously, I don't consider that to be a legit comic... but the story is pretty good. The narration, for all of 7 minutes this time, is good for what it is. I'm interested enough that I will continue to follow the series, assuming I can do so for free in exchange for posting these reviews, but I would not use a credit for this or buy it if it wasn't under 5 or 10 bucks.

Enjoyable but so short

I like this story and enjoy the narrator, but its a pretty frustrating way to listen to a story in short bursts! Besides that its a fun read, but I would rather have the whole story or most of it at once.

I received the book in exchange for an honest review.

Interesting and I Hope There's a Follow Up

For a 7 minute prep book about preppers I found this an interesting listen that left me wanting to know more. We met the Johnsons and know they survived but now what? I hope there's a follow-up to this story.

Mark J. Cayco did a fine job narrating. He has a smooth quality with his inflections.

Short, but interesting...

A unexpected conclusion to The Z Virus vol 1. This book was just as well narrated and intriguing as the first. I was given a free copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

The story continues...

We finally find out who got shot. The language is cleaner in this one and we are introduced to a few more characters as well as the context of the struggle. Not bad for prepper fiction. These are very short and it is a narration of a comic book about preppers in the midst of a zombie-pocalypse. What causes the cataclysm? Is it the meteorite? Is it a biological weapon? Is it the final stages of Trump Derangement Syndrome? Go ahead, click the buy now button and find out!

The narrator did a good job.

Wrong format!

Although the comic books and/or videos of this series may be good I don't think audio is the best format for this work. Perhaps the videos might be successful on Audible. What we have here is just a short teaser to get you to look into the comics and videos on Amazon. I'd like a full-length episode, but not this.
