Publisher's summary

If you could repeat one year of your life, what would you do differently?

,p>This heartwarming and hilarious novel from the authors of The Status of All Things and Your Perfect Life features three best friends who get the chance to return to the year they turned 40, the year that altered all of their lives in ways big and small - and get the opportunity to change their future.

But it doesn't take long for all three women to learn that reliving a life and making different decisions leads only to new problems and consequences - and that the mistakes they made may in fact have been the best choices of all.

A good read....or, listen rather

The narration was good....each characters own personal stories were interesting and it was an overall good listen. The only thing that would've made this a 5 star rating is if there was just a little more excitement....conflict....something .

Do you like repetition?

I felt like there were a lot of feelings and thoughts that repeated themselves frequently throughout the book. It got pretty annoying by the end. The plot is painfully lame. The characters are not in any way endearing. If you need to burn a credit, I'm sure there are worse choices, but I wouldn't recommend spending actual money on this book.

The story was a nice escape. Reading went a bit slow at times, but overall enjoyable

Dont bother

If you had the ability to go back 10 years in your life and get a do over would you? It’s an interesting question but I don’t think it needs nine hours of my time. Unfortunately this book was boring and one note. And the narrator was extremely monotone to the point where I had to stop listening. Sorry girls you lost me on this book.

Interesting ideas, surprisingly moving

I read other reviews and expected a light but fun read of a book pretty far outside my usual SF and fantasy listens. I got much more than I expected. The idea of being able to go back and redo one year is something I think about a lot since a terrible tragedy happened in my family almost four years ago. I can’t count how many times I’ve imagined every little detail I would change. How I would intervene in such a way that I could prevent it without anyone knowing. The pain I could spare. So the premise of this book struck home for me. But beyond premise, by the end I was attached to each of the characters and moved by the new, often challenging paths they carved for themselves in their alternate timeline.

Do Overs

I love books where people get a chance to rework things in their lives. The author handled the complications of life well in this book. Solid story, and the reading was well done.

Thoughts

I found this book very thought provoking. Didn't like that it made it sound like a kid couldn't be happy without two patents. I did and my kids do but I know that you can be a great kid and adult with a single parent! It had lots of good thoughts too. You don't have to have kids to be happy😁 And that you can work out marital problems if you both want to😉
