Publisher's summary

A battle-worn lawyer fights for a young man’s life in this criminally enthralling legal thriller.

Teen pop star Brittany Crutcher is found dead in small-town Tennessee. For attorney Bocephus Haynes, it’s just another night in Pulaski. Bo swore off criminal work after his last case, but the beloved singer’s murder demands answers.

The prime suspect is local high school football hero and the victim’s boyfriend, Odell Champagne. However, this fallen athlete is one of Bo’s son’s best friends. Bo knows this young man and does not believe him capable of the crime.

When Odell is charged with murder, Bo reluctantly takes the case, sparking outrage throughout the town. But as Bo follows the evidence, he learns that the victim made decisions in her last hours that would give powerful forces motive to harm her. Feeling mounting pressure from the community and the DA, Bo forges ahead. But as the seconds count down, he wonders whether justice is even possible.

Excellent!

I have been waiting for this book to be released for months. I started my first legal mystery & suspense thriller with Robert Bailey’s previous books “The McMurtrie and Drake” series. He has since become my
favorite author in this genre! I have fallen in love with many of the characters including of course the renowned attorney and totally human ex football legend Bocephus Haynes & his friend & ex-client, Helen aka “The General.”Known as the toughest district attorney the county has ever seen, unfortunately she feels broken a adrift do to choices and situations in her life and past. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! The narrator Eric G. Dove does an excellent job also!

LOVE Robert Bailey’s Thrillers!

What a treat INDEED to enjoy well-written thrillers with strong character development and plot lines, believable twists, surprising denouements, healthy doses of creative profanity 🥰👏 but NO Blasphemy- sadly Rare treats among current thriller writers.

The Wrong Side

Bocephus Hanes is a secondary character in the McMurtrie and Drake Legal Thrillers by Robert Bailey. Legacy of Lies and The Wrong Side are spin-offs - Bocephus Hanes being the main character. These stories are a continuation of the McMurtrie and Drake series.

In The Wrong Side episode, Bocephus reluctantly takes on the defense of a teenaged football star; he's been charged with murder. Lots of suspects and sleuthing - you'll enjoy.

Although you don't need to, I suggest you read the entire McMurtrie and Drake thrillers first and continue with the Bocephus Hanes series - they are as good, even better.

Decent legal thrillers, all written by Robert Bailey and narrated by Eric G. Dove. Released by Brilliance Audio.

Another excellent picture

Well orchestrated, and great character development. Very believable with a good lesson. Don’t be too quick to judge.

A well written courtroom and personality drama.

I liked the introduction of each character and their part in progressing the narrative. Very interesting characters.

So darn good!

I hope I’ll never need a criminal defense lawyer, but if I did, I’d want Bo! The book is engaging and excellently written. I enjoy the many threads woven throughout the story and the narration is wonderful!
