Writing fast is the most important skill you can develop as a writer. While it seems hard to hit high word counts, the secrets are easier than you think. In this writer's guide, prolific author M. L. Ronn pulls back the curtain on the process that he uses to write six to eight novels a year. While writers might disagree over showing versus telling or plotting versus pantsing, none would argue this: If you want to write strong fiction, you must make your readers feel. The reader's experience must be an emotional journey of its own, one as involving as your characters' struggles, discoveries, and triumphs are for you. That's where The Emotional Craft of Fiction comes in. Veteran literary agent and expert fiction instructor Donald Maass shows you how to use story to provoke a visceral and emotional experience in readers.

It's every novelist's greatest fear: pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into writing hundreds of pages only to realize that their story has no sense of urgency, no internal logic, and so is a page-one rewrite. The prevailing wisdom in the writing community is that there are just two ways around this problem: pantsing (winging it) and plotting (focusing on the external plot).

Publisher's Summary
The Writing Productivity Bundle contains three books: Write Better, Faster; The 8-Minute Writing Habit; and Dictate Your Book.
In 2012, fiction author Monica Leonelle made a life-changing decision to learn to write faster. Through months of trial-and-error, hundreds of hours of experimentation, and dozens of manuscripts, she tweaked and honed until she could easily write 10,000 words in a day, at speeds over 3500+ words per hour!
She shares all her insights, secrets, hacks, and data in this tome dedicated to improving your writing speeds, skyrocketing your monthly word count, and publishing more books. You'll learn:
- The 4-step framework that Monica used to reach speeds of 3500+ new fiction words per hour!
- The tracking systems you need to double or triple your writing speed in the next couple months!
- The killer 4-step pre-production method Monica uses to combat writer's block, no matter what the project is!
- The secrets to developing a daily writing habit that other authors don't talk about enough!
- How Monica went from publishing only one book per year from 2009-2013, to publishing eight books in a single year in 2014
For serious authors, both beginner and advanced, who want to improve their output this year!

Badly Needs an Editor
What did you like best about The Writing Productivity Bundle? What did you like least?
There is some great and useful information in all 3 of the books included in this set. However, the books are about twice as long as they need to be and audio is not really the best format for the material. I recommend buying the ebooks instead.
Has The Writing Productivity Bundle turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I have read many books in this genre and will continue to, but not all of them are right for audio.
Which character – as performed by Cindy Piller – was your favorite?
The narrator was fine.
Who do you think would benefit most from listening to The Writing Productivity Bundle?
Any writer who wants to learn to write faster and more efficiently will find useful information here, but OMG you have to wade through a lot of talk to get to it!
Any additional comments?
If the author had actually edited this script for audio instead of just having the book read (including reading all the many URLs, an unbearably long section of outlining on a tedious story, and a long appendix), this could have been a good listen.

Inspiring and Practical
Where does The Writing Productivity Bundle rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Having taken 9 years to publish my first novel (Full Speed), I'm excited by the idea of writing faster and Monica Leonelle gave me a tonne of practical - and easy-to-implement - ideas that should speed things up for me. I've already implemented her ideas on dictation - something that has both upped my output and, just as importantly, helped me get away (at least for solid chunks of time) from the computer screen.
One thing that is different about The Writing Productivity Bundle is that it is very personal. Monica Leonelle takes you through the day-to-day ups and downs of her writing journey, sharing with you the things that both worked and didn't work for her. Since I've wrestled with many of the challenges that confronted her, I found this both encouraging and inspiring. In fact, it has motivated me to give even more time and love to my writing career.
If you are after books on writing technique (i.e. how to craft a better sentence) then this bundle is not for you. If you want to learn to increase your writing output and make a living from writing, then you'll find it extremely practical.

Actionable steps to take your productivity to the next level
This complete set of books will give you actionable steps to improve your overall writing productivity. I especially enjoyed the author's openness about her various trials and errors, and a thorough explanation of how she corrected her pain points. I've used dictation for a few years, but only for notes and outlines. I'll try dictating scenes for my next story. I believe these books are targeted to genre authors who wish to produce more for the independent book market, but there's no reason a traditionally published author can't take advantage of the many, many productivity hacks.

Monica gives great tips that get you writing fast. My first day of implementing her 8x8 challenge I wrote over 3,000 words. Furthermore her writing process helped me identify gaps in my workflow. Particularly how and when to use dictation for my fiction. Her advise is easy to follow and even easier to implement. I highly recommend this book for any authors struggling with word count or process.

This book is about speaking, not writing
The focus of this book pertains to speaking, not writing. The author lays out how speaking into an ear piece increases writing productivity. I find that my creative side comes out when I write and when I type, not speak into an ear piece. Speaking is separate and unlike writing. Therefore, the title and the appearance of the book are misleading.
