The Write Time

Jenny and Ben have been friends for nine years, since they both started teaching at the local high school. He has also been in love with her for just as long. Their timing as never right.

This is a duel time line flipping between present day and the past. I really enjoyed getting into the back story of Jenny and Ben’s relationship and how it developed and changed. The slow burn and chemistry between the two is…ohhh. I also loved how Mac and Daniel are still very present in Jenny and Ben’s story.

Oh my this book was SO GOOD. I would totally recommend this book. Has some spice, and some tough topics that are brought up, with an HEA.
This is book 2 in the Leade Park series.

Great story + easy listen

The narrators were easy to listen to and captured the characters well. The story was very real and relatable. 4⭐️

Jenny and Ben forever!

There’s nothing better than a slow burn. Unless it’s a slow burn with an early payoff…! Allie Samberts is such a great storyteller. I’m so happy I found her on Bookstagram.

Fantastic!!!

I absolutely love this book, and the audio performance by Megan was phenomenal and took it to the next level. This is already a comfort read for me and I will definitely be listening to the audio again and again.

What a fantastic second book in the series!

Jenny + Ben were so sweet! Ben has the patience of saint and Jenny has had so much growth in the book! I loved to see Mac + Daniel references too! It filled my cup up!

Fantastic Story and Narration

Have you ever read a book where the characters seem so real that you could meet them for coffee, give them a hug, and have a conversation that lasts hours? The second installment of the Leade Park series (really best to read The Write Place first) emphasized real life: normal middle-aged characters (with an established job but a troubled love life), female friendship, and perseverance/secretive pining. Told with a narrative of present day and flashbacks, Jenny and Ben’s almost decade long journey to romance is disclosed, with Jenny struggling and going through one non-committal relationship after another and her longtime friend and coworker Ben’s solid friendship through it all. (High five to Ben!) A low-spice, friends-to-lovers romance with so much heart. 4.5 stars
I enjoyed this on audio. The single female narrator, Megan Carver, had a wide range of emotions and I appreciated how she gave each character a unique voice.

A fantastic second chance love story

This series has my whole heart. Jenny & Ben's story is so sweet. You can't help but root for them! Megan did a fantastic job with the narration!

Wonderful Fulfilling Listen

Oh sweet baby Ben. What a precious angel man. He seriously has the patience of a saint. And Jenny. Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. She is the definition of a ride or die best friend. Something about their story was just so satisfying and fulfilling. I loved how we leaned so much more about Jenny, Ben, and Mack in this book. Flashbacks to the start of their teaching careers where they first started their traditions of Tony’s. And hearing the origins of the emotional support cheeseburgers. There was just so much more to this story than just the two MCs falling in love.

The narration was very well done. I loved how the characters were brought to life and given so much personality - especially Jenny!

Loved Jenny’s story

I loved being back in Leade Park! I loved Jenny’s character in The Write Place (book 1), so was excited to get into her story. I enjoyed learning about her past, but was also very sad for her. Jenny has to overcome a lot in this book and often doesn’t value herself as she should. While this is a love story between Jenny and Ben, I also think it is one where Jenny learns to love herself. I do think the relationship between Jenny and Ben is very sweet. Ben is definitely a golden retriever MMC, and I’m here for it! There is more spice in this one as well. I listened to the audio and really enjoy this narrator!

Top 10 books of the year!

I absolutely adored this book. The story was amazing and the storytelling was so strong I didn’t even notice it was single pov until about halfway there. Usually I feel like im missing things when we dont have dual pov but not with this book. It was beautiful, tender, sweet and a lil spicy. I love love love.

The narration was good too!
