Suicide or Murder?
Lisa M Lilly is a new author to me and I think extremely talented. I loved how she developed the backgrounds of the characters and wove this mystery. Angela Dawe was flawless with her distinguishable voices for the various characters. Her performance is what attracted me to this book, as she is a top notch narrator. I found this book to be totally original, and hopefully the beginning of a new series. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Loved it
I loved this book. It is the first in a new series by author Lisa Lilly and I hope there are many more. Angela Dawe is the narrator for this book and had the perfect voice for it. I could not stop listening to the story. I am sure if I had read the hardcopy I would have called it a page turner. Quille is the main character and she has a very complex background which lends itself to the story line very well. I was gifted this book but this review is my honest review.

Murder or Suicide?
QC ,who is named after her dead sister is currently a lawyer with a part-time gig as a musician and was an actress in the past. She now prefers to go by Quille, She and her boyfriend Marco had planned to move in together but he is murdered the night before. Quille searches for answers as to his demise and wonders if she really knew him and how did he really die. His ex wife and the authorities believe it was suicide, but his son young son emphatically believes it was murder. Sometimes things are not necessary black and white as Quille soon realized. I found the story and characters very enjoyable. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great listen!
This book was well-written and well-narrated! At first, I thought the author did not tell enough of the romance between QC and Marco but that lack is why this book was so good. We were caught, along with QC, trying to figure out if Marco committed suicide or not. There was so little known about him that the mystery was a true mystery. QC had a very interesting life and how she came to be a lawyer could have been its own novel. The same can be said for how Marco came to be. When the two met, it was kismet. A relationship that began as a slow burn was quickly accelerated and the quest to solve a mystery began. The narrator was seriously good. She showed a lot of depth with the many characters she portrayed and made this listen even more enjoyable. I can't tell if this book is a series or not but I do hope so.

Great start to a new series
Quille, better known as Q.C.Davis is a 32 year-old Chicago accountant turned lawyer, who sings on the side. I found Quille to be very likable and for the most part believable, although I think a person like her is a little far-fetched in reality. Accountant, lawyer, singer, and actress all by the age of 32, maybe a bit much. The book starts in a bar where Quille is singing and meets Marco for the first time and quickly moves ahead from fall to spring and Marco's death. From there starts the mystery. Quille not believing the police when they rule Marco's death a suicide starts searching for who, why and what happened to him. The characters, dialog, and situations that are described in the story are believable. I look forward to more books by Lisa Lilly. Angela Dawe does an excellent job narrating this book. Each character has a recognizable voice making easy to follow the story. I enjoyed her narration so much that I am searching out more books that she has done! Derailed
As a devoted fan of narrator Angela Dawe, l sought out this new author. I have over 100 books that are narrated by Ms Dawe. Once again she shows off her talent in this tale. Her male and childrens voices are terrific and they bring you into the story. The publishers summary is spot on. Author is a seasoned cultured person and her examples of cheeses , wine ,dessert , and her knowledge of familiar Chicago locals enhanced the story . Ms Lillys choice of descriptive dialogue is excellent and shows off her expertise in this legal suspense. This is a mystery and not a core romance novel, so if you like delving into a puzzle, this is for you. Author has told a good story, and she has established characters that can continue in a series. Well done. Were my comments helpful?

Say It Isn't So.....
FANTASTIC BOOK!!! I could not quit listening to this book!!! Angela Dawe did a wonderful narration of this novel, that made it where you just had to find out what happened next...which I love! The main character, Quille Davis the 2nd, named after her deceased sister is an attorney and accountant for her theater friends, but for fun acts and is in a band. She is one busy lady, who finds herself in a romance with Marco. Marco once was a doctor, whose license was revoked due to his alcoholism causes him to accidentally remove the wrong breast from one of his patients. After being 3 years sober and coming out of a divorce, Marco looks like he finally has his head on straight, however, right before moving in with Quill Davis (QC), she finds him dead on the couch, that appears to be a suicide with alcohol and pain pills. QC just doesn't believe that Marco would kill himself and neither does his son. QC goes on a mission to find out what really happened, so peace can be found with herself as well as Marco's son.
